Yeah, that is what it looks like. Would be nice to at least try them out first with the different seating positions. That is super compact though, yet expensive and where do you put the shifter.

Shifter goes the same place as on the rest of the wheels. On a little steel corner iron that screws to the plate to the right of the wheel.

There is a secondary "pro" shifter location for the regular seats which is beside the chair to the right. Done think that is compatible with the "challenge" lawnchair style.

I want to get a playseat and am basically wondering if cheaper lawnchair style will do me fine or if this is a "go big or go home moment" and get the full evolution series.

edit: Looks like the challenge has been discontinued on the main playseat website. Also MemX prices are significantly cheaper(420 vs 500 for evolution) than Play seat official store. Also prices from playseat store do not include duties.

^ I ordered from Mem Express the Alcantara and the seat slider. Can;t wait! I'll be into my rig for over a $1,000 for a stupid game. Haha should last me a while though. I had a blast for years with the old xbox 360 wheel and the fanatec wheel stand.They said 2-4 weeks but I'm off to Italy until the end of September so it doesnt matter. Everything should arrive together!

Mem Express prices are waaaay cheaper than anywhere else. I got my order is as the CAD has tanked and they cant be making any money on them at all. Didnt want to wait to chance a price jump.

I thought the demo would be just one race, it is awesome!

Ford GT on Rio track (didn't realize it had active aero)
Then you choose from a list of cars for a series of three races
iirc GT86, S2000 CR, Golf R, 22B and a few others
Lime Rock Normal
Yas Marina Night (Temps are lower so less grip very cool)
Sebring Wet
In between there is also a indy race at I think indy.

Game feels very good, looks great and lots of new features like mods which I probably won't use except for difficulty modifiers. 24 car races and instead of the back of the pack they start you in the middle!

Almost tempted to pick a driving wheel and playseat.

So i finally said fuck it and ordered a playseat and pro shifter mount from memex.

Pro Tip: If you select the "in store pickup" option it doesnt charge you the mandatory 100% non refundable deposit for special order items.

2-4 weeks. About the same time frame as my Logitech wheel.



Went with the white evolution seat. Looks awesome.

edit: got an email kiboshing my not paying up front. Going to have to call in payment for my in store pickup order. But the nice guy did say assuming the distributor has stock it will be closer to a 3-5 bus days for arrival.

Demo is a blast! Really looking forward to the full game. I think the mods thing may be a bit gimmicky, but i will give it a shot. I played through just once thus far and i won the Veyron and the 1,000,000 cash, wish it stayed for the full game haha.

For anyone looking for a seat and mount, Memory Express NE has a demo Velocity Racer on clearance. Supposedly used at Comicon so it's missing a few bolts. The manager said he'd let it go for $350. The lower side bolster is very tight so it'd only be good for someone smaller in size. Looks very similar to this but in black

That looks a hell of a lot nicer than a playseat except it wont fold for easy storage. The condition that my lady said was that it has to be put away in the guest bedroom when Im done playing

what mount would you guys recommend for somebody just playing on a couch? I don't have room to store a whole seat

Get a fanatec wheel stand. Worked for me for years one my xbox 360 for every Forza title and 3 seasons of F1

Does it though? The play seat looks pretty awesome. This only looks a touch better if anything?

I got a talking to from my old lady about "wasting money", fortunately it helped my argument that she smashed her third iPhone of the year the same day. I have to hide it in the "man cave" lol.

Have you looked like the playseat challenge that they have at MemEx that I was talking about on the last page? It folds up like a lawn chair and could be stored behind a coach or something.

I'm thoroughly impressed by the demo. Forza 2 was the last time I played this series. The pedal modulation on the brakes was incredible and the first time I've ever experienced anything like it with a controller. Visuals, sounds, cars and gameplay were all great.
Definitely has me debating what platform to buy a next gen wheel for.

The big things i noticed from the demo was:

Curbs fuck you up way more than in the rest of the series. Which is good. It was always to easy to use them to gain advantage in previous games. Used to basically be no difference in grip just a rumbly controller.

And holy hell hydroplaning is scary in this game. Never played a game like it.
