Default Reputable auto detaiLing shop (paint correction)

Long story short a certain BMW dealer in Calgary washed my vehicle (even though I instructed them not to) and made my paint work look like it was sanded with a 2500 grit.

They have Auto Obsessed in Edmonton, I am seeking to find an equivalent detailing company here in Calgary, thanks

    Footnotes:

-Thursday Jan 15, took the vehicle in for oil change and recalls
-Friday vehicle returned with swirls and scratches
    -Saturday, vehicle was dropped off
-Monday, Service Advisor offer to correct the issue
-Tuesday, vehicle returned with damage to paint work (holograms)
-They offered a 3rd chance, and I declined, we want to choose the right detailer for the job, sent the Dealer the quote
-Friday, Jan 23, I noticed more damage to the paint work
-Service Manager states "it was like that when before the service" and the quote was 3X the price of their service detailers"

    Thanks!

I dropped the vehicle back to BMW to correct the issue, the Service Advisor comes back on Monday and we will discuss options.

I will call Jed for back up

There is a beyonder who does this kind of thing as a hobby, but since he's got a day job and probably values his free time, I'll let him chime in himself.

Update: BMW dealer assumed responsibility to correct the paint work. I will have Jed inspect the paint personally when I pick the vehicle up to ensure they did not cut corners during the paint correction process.

BMW did they same thing to my X5 last year. They assumed responsibility aswell, as I just had the car done by Jed just a few months prior. They paid for it without problem, no grief, no fight, smooth transaction. Good for them for stepping up. Bad for them that I had to get in done in the first place, I mean if you cant even washa car properly, what can you do?

Jack Carters Chev also did that to my BRAND NEW new 427, assumed no responsibility, and basically told me get lost. After fighting with them for a few weeks, they gave me 3 free oil changes. Jed charged me 700 to do it though, so, I'm still out a ton of money. Dont buy new at Jack Carters.

It would be a good idea for you guys to have something like this if you just had your car polished:

So I got the vehicle back, I had Jed attend the pickup and right away there issues from BMW's third-party detailer

-Looks like the third-party detailer went ape-shit with the orbital, causing holograms on the whole vehicle
-Heavy glazing compound to hide the holograms and scratches
    -Scratches about 50% better

Their on-site service manager offered to "finish" the paint correction (apparently he has 17 years detailing experience) but when I asked why was not done and inspected in the first place, they said they had no idea it was not up to my standards

I also asked them what products will they be using and they rambled about "3M, automagic, blah blah blah"

These guys apparently never heard or use Dual Action's

I am taking my business to Jed in two weeks and cut my losses with BMW's attempt to correct the issue

^ dont give up fool. Thats exactly what they want you to do.

Shoulda seen me go ape shit on them when I had problems, (not polish related). U gotta go in there and make a scene. Dont be a fucking pussy.

If they fucked up, they gotta pay for it. simple. When I fuck up at work, I pay for it. simple... You need to teach them that fucking up is not alright. If they have some stupid 17 year old in the back washing and detailing cars for 10 bucks an hour, effectively ruining them, you need to let them know that it'll cost em more in the long term.

whatever though. be a pussy guess.

Disappointing that a "high end" dealer like BMW / Cadillac would let shit like that happen.

I got my CTS from Jack Carter's and it was fine, but sounds like I was lucky. If I could keep the Express vans and Land Rovers from running into me, it'd still be mint.
