I heard that one of the Ford's in town wanted 5k on top of MSRP. Not sure if all Ford dealerships are like this but that is insane

I think people just can't get over paying that much for a Focus despite its capability.

Then again, $10k more will get you into a CLA45.
They will still have no issues selling them all in Canada at this price and at least in the first year not be able to meet demand.

It's $2k more than an STI Sport-Tech but seeing it comes with winter wheels/tires it's not a bad price. I don't understand what people were expecting. People surely couldn't have expected a car with 50 more HP, more sophisticated AWD system, better equipped to actually cost the same or less than a car like the STI which is sporting a decade old engine/drivetrain.

    All hail the new king? I'm more anticipating the US reviews but so far it's looking very promising;

    http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/ford/fo...rs-2016-review

The highlight is the clever all-wheel- drive system that delivers involvement rivals can’t match.
    http://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/f...rs/first-drive

But here’s the rub. After just a few hours playing with the RS’ hilariously approachable limits and using all of its performance more often than you’d think, those problems just fade to black. You’re left astonished by the way it ticks the same boxes as its competitors, then offers another dimension entirely. It’s a game-changer, this car. Really, it’s that good.

That TG review really laid it on thick. Exciting though, sounds like a blast. I hope a Beyonder gets one soon so we can do a Golf R v Focus RS comparo.

I've been thinking about it but I'm working quarter to quarter right now in this economy and the timing is not great. Also I would rather not get a first year model.

Here's to hoping the dealers won't put a ridiculous markup on these.

Is anyone on here actually thinking of getting an RS?

I've checked/called around and it seems like it's possible to get one for MSRP, but there are many places in Canada from what I've read on forums that are charging over MSRP and people are paying over MSRP to order this.

Hell, I think I might be even able to get a really small discount on it. Maybe, lol.

GKN's AWD system sounds awesome!! It 'might' trump Subaru's and Mitsubishi's AWD system!!

I think if there are people who are considering an STI or golf R, then they should also look at the RS as well. I heard the Ford at marlborough only wants MSRP for it too.

Apparently each dealership is only getting 1 allocation no matter what. I "reserved" one for now, but the car itself can't even be ordered yet in the system.

My worry is that another dealer will try to purchase the allocation from them and then mark it up like crazy.

The odd thing about that Motortrend article is the comment "Unless you count torque steer, which seems to show up at strange times when the electric power steering gets a half-beat behind in canceling the lateral forces on the front wheels."

Seems odd for an awd vehicle.

Traverse engine layout is the main cause of torque steer. The front diff doesn't sit right in the middle due to packaging.

If there are tramlines or a crown in the road that I am not centered on, I get torque steer on my longitudinal motor.
