Yeah it's all fixed now, but still funny to mention. I love the speed3's and almost bought a couple before I bought my subaru.

Now if only they actually put good paint on that car... Seeing how needle dick thin the paint on the ST's are you'd hope that they did something about that shit with a more expensive model
Is there quality paint on anything but German/Exotics cars these days (serious question)?

I'm going to wager no. With the exception being Lexus. Subaru and Mazda still have it paper thin, I doubt the other Japanese brands are much different. I haven't actually checked my car's paint but if the ST's paint is thin, the base model's is going to be as well.
Almost every ST owner has complaints about the paint.
Water based shit paint with thin clear coat. Little rock pebble can create a rock chip. A lot better if you have 3m. I'll eventually have to repaint my front end I'm sure. I plan on 3ming it then.
Fucked up not doing it right away sadly...
My dad's old Infiniti used to have the paint peel off on it's own. Small rock chip on the front bumper while on the way to BC = entire bumpers' paint peeled off on the drive.
Doesn't Volkswagon warranty any paint defects including rust for like 5-6 years? I swear they used to at least....
I think the whole bad paint thing is amplified by the fact that we are living in Canada. Rock chips are a thing here. If you want to protect your paint you need Xpel or 3M.
I don't think it's just a Calgary thing as I see a lot of Americans complain about rock chips on Subaru and Ford forums I frequent. Pretty well most new car paint is pretty fragile although the German cars seem to come with more durable paint.Originally posted by Redlined_8000

There are a ton of threads for the RS, so not sure which one this should go in. Maybe a consolidation is in order? Who knows....
Anywho:
