Actually for most people, HELOCing "whlie employed" may serve two key purposes.
1. In case you lose your job
2. to capitalize on some opportunities during the bear conditions
You have first world problems dude because you are in the rare crew of being completely debt/payment free hahaOriginally posted by blownz
It is funny how many people cut back before they actually need to. People panicking over the price of oil dropping will make the rest of the economy suffer and cause more because of this.
It will be interesting to see how this will play out.
As for me, a few pages back I said I may put off buying a new car for a bit while I see what happens at work, but on Tuesday some douche bag hit my car and took off my front bumper, broke both headlights, fender and hood slightly bent. Didn't look like much but found out today they stopped the estimate when it went over $32K. My car is written off and tomorrow the adjuster will make me an offer for the car.
So now I am forced to buy a car, which I hate to be under pressure. My problem is I wanted to wait for the C450 AMG and the new 340 to come out probably this summer. Now what do I do? Rent for a few months? Just buy something else? But something cheaper for 6 months? I hate this.
In the meantime I am trying to not get stuck in the snow driving a RWD CTS rental with shitty all season tires.
I'm also cutting out the casino, no more cleo/zeus slots for me.

Wait for your insurance to get back to you, then start the shit show. Had a kid hit my truck in November (2013), I ended up with a rental until end of Feb ('14) as they would not pay what I required to fix the truck, someone dropped the ball left the paperwork under paperwork and I just ended up putting a shitload of km on a brand new rental truck until they caught back up with themselves and got on board.Originally posted by blownz

was just about to spend about $15 on a sub for lunch, decided to go home instead where I made a killer grilled cheese w/ super sharp aged cheddar and tomato soup for under $1. god damn, i love not wasting money.
I was reading somewhere you should grill cheese with mayo instead of butter. (may be cheaper because it's more spreadable and therefore you use less?)Originally posted by FixedGear

I tried it on a wrap this morning and I think I like it... time will tell

mexx is the last place I would expect to sell packing tape LOL
Been doing this for years, just because it's tastier. Although I use miracle whip for it instead of real mayo, because it adds a sweetness.Originally posted by jwslam

So you put the mayo on the outside?

Yep. With miracle whip you have to turn the temp. down a notch though, the sugars in it fry faster than butter.Originally posted by Cos

Well, I did it, signed for this on the weekend. I guss you could say I'm "cutting back" because I got a used one, spent under $10k, instead of doing like a couple of my buddies recently, and payong $25-30k new.Originally posted by ExtraSlow
