Given how many 991 GT3s showed up to Porsche Center with winter tires, I have a feeling that we'll see at least one of these on Calgary streets.

This thing should be awesome and it really does look fantastic, a true purists car, but as others have said for over $100K

If that is the case I feel bad for all the early adopters who dealt with the janky grenading transmissions.

Love the car but spent some time in a Cayman R and the suspension was just too damn stiff for our roads. Assuming this car would be similar.

Anyone with experience in the GT cars who can comment on the suspension?

My experience in a .2 RS is that the suspension is more supple than the sport setting in a PASM equipped car FWIW.

By no means is it comfortable, but it's certainly dd-able...

That's interesting. The Cayman R hurt my organs over frost heaves. It was almost exhausting to be in. I rode in a Boxster GTS yesterday and is was really smooth. Excellent from a comfort perspective in fact. Harris said the GT4 is similar to GTS to it sounds good to me.

Hey, is anyone backing out of the wait list in Calgary or Edmonton? I'm putting my 1m on the chopping block for this one, but I'm number 8 on the wait list in Edmonton and number 4 in Calgary.

According to Miles, it doesn't matter where you are on the list at the dealer level. Porsche Canada has your order and will dish out allocations to the dealers based on names so one person can't get 2 cars, nor can you take over/sell a spot.

You shouldn't need to worry about getting an allocation because you are on the next batch of allocations in Calgary. You will get a car. Typically, Porsche allows a batch of 5 cars to be allocated to each dealership all at once. So if you're within that threshold, it shouldn't matter if there are 1 or 2 or 3 people ahead of you.

In terms of taking over/selling a spot, I suspect it is possible from my conversations with Langley... I could be wrong, but just speculating. Maybe not selling a spot, but if someone you know is relinquishing their allocation, it MAY be possible to take that spot on the list if you know the right people. That said, it might not be necessary because they don't release allocations 1 by 1, but in batches.

You should still worry about allocation, the spots are NOT based on a batch - they come one at a time and on the limited production cars the time spans can be a year or more.

The first one coming to Calgary will be here next week. The first one ORDERED will be here Halloween.

Porsche will continue to build the GT4 until July and if you have a sold order in the system it is likely that you will get a car.

If you want one, get an order in - you will not have a chance to say 'yes' later.

Regarding selling a spot - it may work in a specific instance, but if you give up your spot - it will go to the next guy in line, not your buddy or who you sold it to.
