Mk4 was only 2 door never sold in Canada. Mk5 was only 2 door never sold in canada. Mk6 was only 4 door and 6spd.

The price seems comparable to last gen.

That's CND MSRP, Im reading through the product guide and it appears to be a 5 door, not a 3.

DSG at $1400
Special Oryx white paint
Tech pack with driver assistance, adaptive cruise, lane assist, blind spot, city emergency brake and park distance control will be $2015.

Those are the only extra add ons.

Sellout articles are such BS, manufacturer sends the article to the media to post, creates a hype and urgency. If I need more allocation I can get it, if they don't build your car in June they'll build it in July.

BMW did this all the time with their M cars.

Are these being built in Germany or Mexico? A June SOP will arrive at dealerships in the August/Sept timeframe.

$40k puts it pretty close to STI pricing.

Germany for the Golf R. Mexico isn't ready for AWD yet as far as I've read.

STI with leather and nav is 45k base. Base STI is a decent deal at 38k but for 2k more Golf R looks to be a much better deal.

That price is better than I anticipated. Was thinking GTI with PP but this is tempting. Damn house renovations eating into my car budget means lots of arguments with the wife trying to justify another car.
