This is just a thing of beauty. Also didn't realize you moved to VW from Mazda! Good move. No more rusty buckets to deal with lol.

Cool if true about being able to completely disengage the ESC.Other unique features…?
There are many. Stiffened chassis, lowered suspension, a fully disengage-able electronic stability control system,
So, this vs Ford Focus RS? Which one do I want? Test drive both I suppose, but damn, the awd manual transmission fun-fest begins!
I think the Golf has the looks department over the RS. Also Audi build quality. Our Escape hasn't been the best in that department....
No sunroof? What is this 1990?Originally posted by Errol.
So upset that there's no sunroof.
To be fair, the lack of a sunroof will be better for the track and bragging rights, improving overall stiffness both for the chassis and the driver.

Kind of glad no sunroof standard. Keep the center of gravity low, less weight, less $, also, for us taller folks no sunroof can mean the difference between fitting in with a helmet or not.Originally posted by rage2

Yea, with the pano roof in the BS, I barely clear it with the helmet on. For street use, I love it. Plus it's an awesome suction cup mounting point for go-pros.

no manual would be a deal breaker for me.
no sunroof for that price!?? While it may save weight, improve structural rigidity, I would bet that 90% of those that buy the R don't notice those things and unless your tracking it every weekend and looking for 100ths of a second in your lap times weight/structural impact would be negligible (my biased opinion). Agree with Rage2's bragging rights comments - just for bragging rights; like the carbon fibre roof on the M3/4

Edit so you don't have to go back a page:
The manual is $39,995
The DSG is $41,395
It's exactly why the price is so low that there is no sunroof. They tried to rush the car over and only certified a 4 door no sunroof shell to import from Europe.Originally posted by Axe

Absolutely. I think I have opened my STI sunroof only once ever as I just let the climate control do it's thing. I don't care if a car has one or not but if it's an option that is less than $1000 I usually opt for it if only because it's a good bell & whistle option when you are going to sell in the used market.Originally posted by rage2

Since they are build in Europe why would they need to worry about importing the shell to North America?Originally posted by Aleks
