That's really unfortunate. I was hoping to deal with him again when my GTI lease it up.

Never been a fan of Northland - South Centre has been great.
Few people I know have dealt with Alex there.
South centre has always been fair to me and it’s probably where I will go.
Only thing I didn't like about Gary Moe was they wouldn't budge from their 'mandatory' 100% money-grab dealer admin fee. Ended up buying somewhere else because of that, but the dealings up until that point were good.
Every other VW dealer in AB tries to tack on that "mandatory" $1-1.5k "alberta package" with the 300$ worth of add ons (mud flaps, block heater and shitty mats) and rarely budge on MSRP pricing so I would definitely pay the admin fee lol and pay below MSRP like Gary Moe was offering people. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. About to do my 3rd Service on the R this summer. Apparently my brakepads are done and need to be replaced. Is that normal with just 25km??
All four? That seems premature unless they are really aggressive padsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Well that sucks, I had been hoping to deal with Ryan on an R as I think I have come to my decision, so I will look around town here then.
Yes they all try to tack on some sort of fee, but not all of them are willing to lose a sale over it. All negotiations should be dealer invoice + agreed upon profit, so it's easy enough just to compare and see who is giving the best price at the time. If they still want to add the fee just so it appears on the bill of sale, they can take it out of their end. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So where is Ryan now?
Not entirely on topic but did any of you sit in the egolf this weekend?
Seems pretty cool for a leased dd?

Yes @Redlyne_mr2 where did you go? I emailed you inquiring about the Atlas and got a very unhelpful salesperson.

If we get $14K up front like Ontario, then lease goes from $660 to $360/mth, much more enticing.
Agreed, if we got something to offset the costs, I'd look into it as well. The 201km range has me a little concerned however. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I am clearly not a lease master like some of you lol.
Mostly was commenting on the car being pretty compelling. I’m not ready to full on own an electric though, seem like that sentiment is built into the lease.
I kindof like it though. I always liked my golf.

Charging infrastructure and speed is crap.
200km is plenty if you drive 100km/day and go home and charge for 8-10hrs to top it up. Also, when they say 200km, they mean 160km (120km in winter) if you want longevity from your battery. Tesla owners usually don't charge past 80% unless they need it for long trips. Just like cell phone, you want to keep battery charge to be around 20%-80%. Outside of this range, battery degrades faster.
I don't think 200 km (or 160 km, or 120 km) range is that big of an issue. I assume the target market is urban dwellers or families with more than one vehicle. I could totally get by with that kind of range without any impact on my lifestyle.

I’d say no. My dad has 37k on his including track time and the pads are still holding up well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Do yo guys recommend that I take my R to a non-dealer shop to service? even though it's still under warranty period?
Would like a second opinion on the pads, and if they do need to be replaced, I would also like the options to go non-oem, maybe for more performance and aftermarket stuff? Any recommendations for shops?
It's a VW not a Ferrari lol I'm sure most shops can fix it up.
