Well things happen quick. Took 3 dealerships, but I'm gonna be in the cornflower blue club, under msrp. If you're a salesman, and someone ends up at your desk don't let your dickhead manager beat them down, whatever tactic that was saved me like 5k!

What exactly did the sales manager do?

I'm pretty sure he didn't think I was serious because I went in my work clothes, they couldn't find good comparables for my truck which is fair, but he diagnosed a cold start exhaust manifold leak on my warm engine. The manifold is absolutely not leaking I'm certain he was referring to the problem the 5.4l engines had, the marked me up to a $900 windshield which I just replaced for my new deal for $250. He was just basically an asshole, not even including the salesmen who asked me why I was at his desk when that's where me and the sales lady I was dealing were sitting, while she was helping the manager. I didn't go in for a new car, but they had me happy at msrp, so I'm glad it went that way.

What dealer did you have the shitty experience at? Where did you end up buying?

I just bought from south center and had a decent experience. The sales guy was nice but useless imo. I know what I want just need him to facilitate the deal. The xpel installer was awsome though he was supposed to charge me for the bumper as I added it later in the week but he did it for free.

I went in Thursday told him I had a hour to get the deal done (wasn’t a tactic had to get a kid to school), needed the car Saturday with xpel and tint and they got it done.

I wish the industry would change and I could just order online for a set price that was fair and not have to deal with people. It may not work for everyone but most car enthusiasts know what they want and don’t need to be told what they want.

The shitty experience was at boundary vw, in Burnaby, and I bought from regency in Coquitlam.
I'm out here for work and decided I was sick of paying these fuel prices in my truck, the vw in Abbotsford refused to negotiate via email.

That's where I bought from too. I dealt directly with one of the sales managers and had the whole deal done over the phone. No fuss, no muss. They even transported the vehicle up to Edmonton in a covered trailer for me at no cost to me.

    Ewww...

They could make it. And then no one would buy it.

I didn't really like my experience at south centre between the sales manager, proposed trade in value and always sitting and waiting (Why give me a time if you can never meet it). I'll do my servicing I think at country hills as that is closest to me anyways.

Sounds like most dealerships.. Just a waste of time and making sit around and taking their sweet ass time.

I had a gti I got serviced there back in 2008 or so and it was terrible dealing with them, I’m trying to be more forgiving and not hold a grudge these days so I gave them a shot for a new purchase. All dealers I talked to where at the same price anyway.

Anyone know the fine print on warranty, I plan on doing oil changes at tunedub while it’s under warranty. Will it void my engine warranty?? Vw said yes but it wasn’t a confident yes. I believe in the past you where good to go on Indy shops but maybe they added to the fine print.

I won't even deal with a dealership that won't have 90% of the work done before I get there anymore and an already agreed upon price. Nobody has time for all their games and the back & forth "manager dance" which is an unbelievable waste of time for all parties involved. It can literally take hours while they feed you lie after lie. Now, I just have to show up to sign the papers and that's it, but some dealers won't even talk to you unless you show up in person.

It shouldn't as long as it is documented. I just keep my receipts and take a photo of the products/odometer as my records and add it to my spreadsheet as I do that at home. I am doing 7500 km though just cause I can.
