you guys are so mean, i think it would be an almost impossible conversion on the new car, but on you crx, it's possible, although pointless(the allwheel drive honda only sends 10% of the power to the rear wheels) and it's very hard, alot of work, not worth it at all.
Yeah, I've heard of an awd crx (using CRV parts). Took a lot of time, money and fabrication, but I imagine it would be one of the most fun cars to drive on a road course.
A 2004 eclipse though? no. Unless you have an unlimited supply of cash and very good fabrication it won't happen. But it ultimately begs the question, why an 04 eclipse? Why not just start with a better platform to begin with and save yourself the time and money.

Lets just say, for the price it will cost, your buddy might as well have gotten a Lancer Evo. It would of been so much more of a car than he has now.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

You just seem to agree with anyone as long as you get to put up a post man...
And like was posted already, sell the Mitsu and start off with a better canvas...a 2G spyder, and the AWD system froma 2G Hardtop is adaptable, I know of 3 in the US currently at least...
If you have more questions about that for the Eclipse PM me...
as for the Honda, I dont know man sorry...

No!!! Don't even bother. It's not even worth it to do it to a 2G Spyder. If you really want AWD, get a car that came with it from the factory.Originally posted by cerebal

Why?? What benefit do you think you'll get out of AWD??
Damn +44411's
imo it would be a lot of work for nothing. the awd systems in the old hondas and even the crvs isnt meant for rally racingOriginally posted by lude_conduct

it works with some ghetto viscous coupling center diff that needs a couple seconds of spinning front wheels to begin to transfer any power to the back.
you can swap the engine but doing the AWD swap would be just as hard as a CRX. So why bother for like $8000?Originally posted by habsfan
does anyone know if it's possible to swap a 3S-GTE and AWD drivetrain from a celica gt4 into a camry? so essentially u have a turbo'd 5spd, awd camry?

Why people want to do such swaps is beyond me.

I guess to prove they can do it. like that mid engine NSX powered crx... shops do it to show off their skills. regular people do it because they dont know how to spend money properly![]()
