Just finishing up some car work and am wondering if anyone has some scraps of sheet metal lying around I can come pick up?
Preferably NW Calgary.
1ftx1ft section would be more than enough. Around 18-20gauge.
Capping off some engine bay holes.

Sounds like you don't want to pay for it - which is fair.
But if you don't mind paying for it, Canadian Tire usually has small sheets of metal for sale.
Home Depot carries it too.
Yeah, if no one close comes through, I'll check out C tire. Just figured someone has scraps lying in the garage they want to get rid of.
I just have galvanized sheet metal. Trust me, you don't want to try welding that.
Yeah, I have enough zinc in my diet. lol

Metal supermarkets is really cheap too, especially for mild steel. Wouldnt be more than 5$ for a 1x1 sheet i figure. Especially if the boss lady isnt around and you have cash
Yeah, I just didn't want to drive out to metal supermarkets. Yes, boss lady = Tyrant.
I'm not a preferred customer so I thought there was a minimum charge, I guess there's scrap sheets for cheap.
How big of pieces and how many? We've got lots of aluminum scraps at work, but nothing 1'x1'. I won't be in again until Monday though.

I'll grab a chunk for you.
There's three 2.5" diameter holes I want to fill. Must be steel. Can't weld on aluminum.
