My advice is to just join tournaments or men's league. You will meet a ton of people. I think I only played with one person all year that I did not enjoy playing with.

Even on the weekends if you just want to go out and play, join a group.

Yeah intention is to play in men's league and tournaments available.

Hoping it is a bunch of people who enjoy golf and not a competitive place.

Do you live close? I just don't see myself ever joining a course that I have to drive 30-45 minutes to get to. I want one that's on my way home from work or close to home.

^Yeah that's ideal. Tons of people at Pinebrook live in Springbank. I'll be moving closer within the next year, really looking forward to not driving 30min to the course every time.


Got out to Gleneagles today for the last round of the year. I played a great game of golf, and the weather was awesome. Only shitty for 2 holes. Now I have to convince my wife to bring our clubs with us when we visit my parents in Hawaii at christmas

It's a 25 minute drive from my place.

Kind of eyeing real estate in Priddis though.

Pretty much every club will have their competitive clique, but the vast majority of players are all out to just play and don't really care who they're playing with. Most guys playing in the men's leagues are just happy to golf since for many it's probably the only weeknight they're able to make it out. Matchplays are also good to play if they have them because it forces people to reach out and meet.
