Maybe Chris Harris will fill in for JC?
Maybe Chris Harris will fill in for JC?
93 Camaro Z28 (The fast one)
01 Trans Am WS6 (The cute one)
Esla T6 Dog Sled (Not cute, not fast, scary as hell)
I really enjoy Chris Harris for what he does, i am just not sure i'd like him as a replacement for JC. They are different characters who have different strengths that are not really exchangeable.
Top Gear brand has divested to other regions, including China, Korea, Russia, US and Australia. Not likely Clarkson will be able to buy that back.Originally posted by cloud7
Here is how it will play out for Clarkson:
- Clarkson forced out of Top Gear by BBC
- Top Gear rating falls
- BBC cancels the show altogether
- Clarkson buys back the rights to Top Gear at a fraction of the cost
- Top Gear returns but not on BBC
BBC has done this since they bought the property because you can't really let the 3 hosts having an upper hand on every negotiation.
But really, Clarkson can get away with murder at this point when you look at how much money BBC is going to lose just on suspension alone, even more if Clarkson walks away.

Things I've learned in the last few days... people hate British people.
"...presenter punched producer Oisin Tymon when no hot food was available after a day’s filming." That totally sounds like Clarkson
No Clarkson = No Top Gear = No £50m/year for the BBC
JC will do another public apology like after that Mexico comment and the show will go on.

I cant believe all of this came from a lack of hot food. Hopefully they can come to an agreement where Clarkson takes an anger management course and a public apology or something and the show goes on.
I enjoy Chris Harris but he is no replacement for Clarkson. As much as I enjoy May and Hammond they cant carry the show without Jeremy.
I can. If I'm Clarkson and some lippy "producer" saying this is the only junk you get to eat after a full day of shooting, I would lose shit.Originally posted by lamp_shade_2000

I am willing to bet that the "producer" got the fist after being lippy on Clarkson's complain which set him off.
And when the fuck we start giving sandwich boy producer titles.

As much as I like JC, he needs to get it together. How many times has he put his shows and his colleagues careers in jeopardy because of some stupid shit he said or did? He didn't take to the previous 'wake up' calls, so why would this be any different?
That being said, I'd love for the show to continue, but you can't punch people you work with. I'd get sacked immediately

I do get great service there, especially when I mention my name, haha.
Yeah. I get that he doesn't take BS but you can't punch anyone in the face in this day and age just because of a verbal disagreement without expecting to face immediate termination as well as the possibility of jail time for assault. He really does deserve to get fired as this simply isn't acceptable behavior.Originally posted by Canmorite

As I hinted at on the other top gear thread which has since spiraled into the same topic; I have been contemplating for about the last two seasons what this show would look like with new presenters, and honestly I think to some extent that is slowly where this show is going. At the same time however, I fear that if one or all of the current presenters were to leave or be sacked, I think the show might suffer.
On another note however, there is also the potential that the situation has been blown out of proportion through second hand reports, and this might have been a misunderstanding. Lets be honest, yes the man has made MANY MANY MANY poor verbal remarks, but I haven't found anything to suggest that he has ever been physically violent, thus this punching allegation might be untrue or an over exaggeration by second hand reports.
I don't disregard that Jeremy Clarkson is a loose cannon in many aspects and he is overly edgy, but for me this is why I like watching the show. I liken it to why I used to enjoy watching coaches corner, because Don Cherry would say things which were either politically incorrect or derogatory and it was entertaining, I still like it now, but he gets cut down too much IMO.

BBC reporting that he did punch someone, and the show is over for this season.

Don't think anything has been officially said yet though in regards to the punch.
It will be interesting to see what comes of this though

It figures we finally get a longer season (10 episodes) and they end up cancelling the rest of it ...
