No kidding, Amazon must have offered a very sweet deal to beat out Netflix. Guess it's back to pirating for me!Originally posted by rage2

One thing that comes to mind though, something that probably drew Wilman towards Amazon as the showrunner is music. They got to use all sorts of kickass music on the BBC show because the BBC gets to license any song released in the UK for free. Amazon doesn't get free licensing, but as a music seller they're set up to get some kind of arrangement and will likely have a "buy music used in this episode" system set up - which could be great for artists whose work is used on the show.

and that's only if the show is any good.

So they went from a network that has no allegiance to any product manufacturer, giving them full reign to make fun of anything they want, to a “network", who's entire business is selling product.
Alllrighty then.

We'll have to wait until the details come out. Somebody has to own the distribution rights, Amazon or Clarkson's production company. There is no way they would drop the audience from 200 countries to 5, that makes zero sense.

Given that we tend to get lumped in with the USA I see us either getting the shaft (no broadcasters pick it up cuz most of our channels are american anyways) or Amazon uses this to rollout instant video in Canada which could be handyAmazon won the global rights to the new series, meaning it will appear on Prime video in the U.S., U.K., Austria and Germany. Amazon can also license rights to the show to broadcasters or streaming services in other territories around the world where Prime video isn’t available.
Don't you start that shit again!Originally posted by killramos
Can we even get amazon video legit up here? They might just contract it out to netflix here anyhow
I guess that is how I did it all along.Originally posted by Brent.ff

Don't worry, someone will come along, and bundle some of the good streaming networks, with ones you don't give a shit about, at a more affordable rate, and then charge you more for a second bundle that has the rest of the good ones, with even more of the shit ones.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
Netflix better be part of this deal... having a subscription to a dozen online streaming places is going to end up being just as expensive as cable

Still Netflix would be a better match.
