Wifes laptop has a black line across the screen that keeps getting bigger.
I need a recommendation for a shop to get a quote for repair / replacement.
Thanks.

In warranty? If not memory express or diy. Not hard at all
Pro-Data in the NE does this kind of work, do quality work and for a fair price. Or, like Justin said DIY is an option, directions are usually available online for most models and it's not hard.
^^ I've ordered there as well, came quick and good price. Not too hard to do yourself, can help if you need it?
Depends on replacement cost of laptop.
Repair costs probably not worth it for a 100$ laptop.
Most laptops aren't $100... most information on the laptop and down time and pain in the ass of upgrading to new shit isn't worth it for old, non-techies that use it minimally.Originally posted by revelations

Likely this member was asking about replacing the screen as he doesn't want to replace the laptop. Wife likely doesn't need full 1080P or gaming capability which is why he is here to replace the screen on the cheap.
Broken laptop isn't even worth $20 nevermind $100, but it might be worth $100 to him to fix it so he doesn't have to spend $899 on some new junker, then $500 in tech support to get the wifes crap over and her happy and do it all again in 5 years.
OP, missing a few digits off the back model #, if you enter e530 in here;
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/section/search/
See if you can find a match to yours, some of them I clicked on only $75, hour or so of your time and your back in action for under $100.
Just ordered the correct one based on full model number.
I may need help with install when it arrives.
Thanks for the assistance.

Although they don't have a screen replacement teardown, this should help for other things!
