Default Recommend me a cheap rug shop

looking for a rug for the bedroom, i just put laminate in and now the wife wants to cover it with carpet again, lol... anyway, i would love a custom size, but i am not sure how incredibly expensive that would be, so i am looking for some suggestions on where can make or sell them for a reasonable price, would rather local so we can feel it and stuff before we buy.

the area we have is maximum 7.5ftx11.5ft, that would be the ideal size, could go down to like 7x10 though for a common size, that'd be fine.(this will be going under the (queen) bed, so a lot of it will be covered, but i would rather not do runners around the bed, i'd rather 1 big solid piece)

    I wouldn't even mind 2x 5x7 if it's cheaper

And the wife wants something soft, shag or the like

the theme here is cost, i have looked online, and am not interested in spending $1000+ on this, looking for cheap and soft, a couple hundred dollars would be about my limit.

Home Depot has some good options for 8x10's in the $400 range. Online they have a large selection but some of them are available in store as well.

You can also check out Lowe's. We bought an area rug from Lowe's a few weeks ago and it was 20 or 25% off. They have tons of selection. I also saw some shag rugs at Costco for 289.99 and it was bigger than 8X10. You can also maybe check out Urban Barn? another good place would be end of the roll as well.

You could just get any broadloom carpet you find that you like and have it cut/bound to suit. It wouldn't be that much money.

A place like End of the Roll would likely be able to help you out. You just need a 16 yard piece and have it cut to fit and edge bound.

yeah that's kinda what i wanted, just don't know who will bound the edges, i would imagine a place like end of the roll wouldn't have this type of service.

just putting this out for some suggestions and when i nail down exactly what i want/need i'll make some calls.

yeah i have looked there, i like some of them, very soft, just not much info on them as far as size, and getting someone to pull one down is like pulling teeth. i think most at 8x10, which realistically i could likely do, but i would need to get a hole cut in it for my floor register

    THIS!!!!
I just went to a couple places for smaller rugs and probably the best selection here. The sales process reminds me of soundsaround where you drive around back, give the guy your sales receipt and he brings it out for you

The Wife and I always get our rugs from Home Outfitters, they have a clearance bin that they put older stock in to make room for new stuff. We picked up a super nice 5x8 rug for $50 regular $500. No joke.

I have a 5x8 rug I got from Superstore. I seem to recall it being about $50 cause I didn't want to spend too much.
