Seriously, TAG Heuer is going to kill it this year in the mid range luxury market. Their $5k in house skeleton Chrono was amazing at its price point, and now this is coming out next. In house tourbillon chronograph movement in what looks like a Carrera case, with a MSRP of only $15k! A tourby at this price range is unheard of, let alone one with a chronograph!

This one does rival my fondness of the Monaco V4 Tourbillon

I need some education on tourbillons... I've always understood them to be a very expensive complication, reserved for high priced watches - often $50k-$100k. But then I recently saw an Android (not related to the smartphone) watch with tourbillon for ~$1k. Example.

Is this just another case of the premium for a Swiss movement vs a Chinese movement, only magnified by 50x?

Except the Monaco V4 Tourbillon chimes in at $150k, and this guy at $15k haha.

Like I said, the price point on this bad boy is unheard of. The cheapest Swiss tourbillon today I believe is the Frederique Constant Slimline Tourbillon at $35k, and the cheapest Swiss chronograph tourbillon would be the Montblanc Heritage Tourbillon Chronograph at $49k.

AATOS Tiago is the cheapest Tourbillon at $600. All the Chinese Tourbillons are based on one of 2 designs. It's size are significantly larger than Swiss Tourbillons, and they're not the most accurate, but are decent enough on a daily basis. I actually own a handful of Chinese tourbillon watches just to see what the fuss is about. The big difference in the Chinese movement (and watches at this pricepoint) is quality. It looks like a cheap watch, the movement hardware looks cheap, but it's a tourbillon.

There's a good post over on one of the rep forums that break down the Chinese tourbillons available on the market today:

There's also a good review of the AATOS tiago here that explains how they were able to come in at such a low price point:

Obviously, if TAG can come out with this at $15k, this will lower the markup on the other Swiss brands significantly.

This would be an awesome watch at 15k. Still to pricey for me, but anyone have a link to the TAG skeleton? That's more like my price range.

Looks great. Going to be pretty hard to not buy this watch.
