Probably a lot!

I'm not a user nor do I plan on being one, but it probably should be legalized. However I'm not voting for a party based on that reason lol. Surprised by all the results so far except for the obvious one.

A pleasant surprise. I could live with the wildrose. Anyone that will sweep out the closets. I would like to see the Greens or the NDP however.

Does the Green Party even support legalization? The green refers to the environment not weed. They will never win in Alberta.

Any party that is left of the PC's would probably legalize weed.

The PC's want to increase jail time and fines.

However there is little chance of changing the mind of someone that wishes to vote PC, as they vote out of fear.

After the budget, I dislike them all. Good chance I wouldn't vote for the first time ever. If I did, it'd be PC or Wild Rose, but I don't feel positive about either, just better than the left leaning ones.

Budget was a necessary evil. Albertans are doing almost universally well. PCs for the mere fact we are still leaps above every other province in Canada so something is being done right.

They're not even close to closing the deficit. The "necessary evil" came far short. They talked the big talk, but didn't have the guts to cut programs, which should be part of the process.

Voting for any party on this one issue is pathetic. Without it legalized smokers can still buy it, its not going to be that big of a tax windfall and its a hijack of the political process.

If weed is a person's big election issue then they should vote for who is currently in power as things are obviously excellent if weed is their primary concern.

If you are under 30 years, I'd think you would be crazy to re-instate a majority PC government that in its term, has printed more money per capita than the US by a factor of about 3x.

I usually vote Green, not that I know the candidate. Not that I agree with their policies either, but I'd like to see a nice 20% for each candidate type of split someday.

People seem to trivialize the pro-weed side of things, for me it's not about getting stoned (I don't smoke) it just seems like a massive opportunity for tax revenue that's being missed.

Doesn't matter how big the population is, they don't show up to the polls (people under the age of 25 in general, would be interesting to see stats on the pot smokers).

Most people with real jobs don't run the risk of a D&A test coming back positive. The large % of people who actually care about their jobs are over the age of 25.

The number of young voters diminishes each year. I think they tend to understand that Canada is not really a democracy, I would classify Canada with a grade of "D" and not "C" for the level of democracy we have however. Swiss might be closer to "A".

Its not that healthy however. If voter turnout starts to hit 50% or less (like the US) then it might be singalling a systemic problem with government itself.

They have oil. It is hard to not do well when you have gobs of money.

But the PCs seemed to screw that up.

Zenops, thats because (as my ex once said) "politicians don't care about us!" (Students, that is).

And she's right, with good reason. Anyone who is going to get a post secondary education is an extremely financially mobile individual. They will quickly move out of the being poor phase.

With such a transitionary. Age group with rapdily changing needs, I wouldn't cater to them either, especially since they are such whiny bitches and want things like "health and wellness centers with rock climbing walls" and wonder why their tuition is $10k per year
