Calgary police say violent arrest caught on cell phone justified

Just saw this on FB, anyone else seen this video? Seems a bit excessive. I'm not anti-police buuuut resisting arrest automatically makes another human being a punching bag? Discuss.

Resisting arrest and the reason the cops were called in the first place, f*cking right. More the better.

Justified. Clear they were having a hard time controlling him, he was resisting. If I ever have an issue with being arrested I'll be a good little boy and take that up with my lawyer at trial.

Looks OK to me. You resist arrest, you get a beat down until you are subdued. Also, those cops don't know if he has knife on him or something else that he is ready to whip out. Dumbass got what he had coming.

As others have said... if you resist arrest, you have to expect the cops are going to do whatever they need to in order to arrest you. Pretty simple logic.

The one point where the cop is striking 4 times which seems to be setting everyone off he seems to be hitting the trap, which is a nerve strike which can cause your arm to go numb, so if he was holding on to the bench that makes sense.

Everyone keeps talking about moral compass. GUY DESERVED IT. The guy got drunk during the day. Refused to pay.... Are the cops suppose to sit there and waste their time talking to the guy for 2 hours when he won't move. They want to throw him in the drunk tank and he wasn't complying. Good on those cops. He deserved every punch he got.

There are no drunk tanks anymore. They just drop them off with DOAP or the Alpha House to sober up.

Article said they OC'd him. Didn't work. Strikes would be the next thing, and sounds like they were punching him in the ribs to get him to let go of the bench. Not like they were beating the hell out of him.
