Maybe this is me getting old but I just want a factory tuned car now. I don't want to play with modding anymore. LOL

Rumours confirm that concepts are dumb and so is this thread.
STI to become its own brand with more models. They are going to market STI parts in the US.

Get rid of the spoiler and enormous rear diffuser and I like it. I can think of very few cars that need a power bump as badly as the FR-S/BRZ.
I hope that's an April fool's joke. It doesn't deserve an STI badge if that's all they're going to give it.Originally posted by Twin_Cam_Turbo
All sources I've seen so far point to +20-30HP and naturally aspirated.
The concept has a 450 hp motor out of the gt300 race car. The post is updated with new pics and details.

Yeah but we all know that's not at all realistic for a production car.Originally posted by benyl

I think they could get it close to the WRX's hp. The average consumer is usually looking for one or the other, not cross shopping between the two since they are such completely different vehicles.
A 2L turbo would be awesome, maybe just slightly detuned from the WRX.
the headlights are quite interesting, how did they look in person rage2?
I think it looks great in person. Not only headlights, but the whole car.

I noticed a ton of people have been posting Beyond's pictures of this car over on FT86 club. You guys must have got some of the best detailed pictures of it at the show!

Yea, Bernard did a great job with the pics. Snuck into the show before the announcement and got tons of close ups. I'm actually using this pic as my background since I got back from NY:

I think it looks awesome. That paint color (or wrap?) is wicked. I must be a closet ricer because I think the CTR looks pretty good too. Rear diffuser and Wing are definitely a bit much unless this things packing 400 hp but hp aside I think they make it look great.
Exactly which i think i made clear in my first post. Car looks good but it's drive train is not living up to it's aero.Originally posted by riander5

My car has a diffuser on it because it looks cool :P
I want a GT wing and wider fenders eventually.
I have my reservations about this car on a few notes:Originally posted by Twin_Cam_Turbo

1) That's a concept car. I have doubts production will resemble much of it (good or bad).
2) Powerplant. When people step up to the creme de la creme of models, they want something that really sets the car apart from the regular trims. From what has been said about the car so far, it really is just a wide-body kitted car with stiffer springs and maybe some brembo brake calipers.
3) Price. Lots of body panels are changed / added over the current trims to get it to where it is. Even powerplant aside, there are probably lots of upgrades to the car here and there. MSRP could potentially be in the low to mid 40s. Definitely above 40.
4) Remember "fuck this car"? If it ever does get released, it will be way later than they say. Althought the current trims were delayed significantly, they did deliver on the final product. Hopefully that is the same case with the STi, but I'd have a hard time waiting for a car that is 2+ years out.
5) To toot my own horn here, I've had BBS wheels on my BRZ that look very close to the ones on the concept car (could be a variant of the BBS CH-Rs I have). I'd like to take credit for their choice on that. Good taste!
6) I'll take my BRZ over it anyday
