    Default Atkins for Diabetes

Anyone here ever try the Atkins diet? I want to try it in order to bring my A1C down to an acceptable level.

    Any other diabetics here?

A good friend of mine used lowcarb (not Atkins) and mediated his blood sugar and cholesterol.

Type 1 here. My H1C is 7, lol I don't count carbs or anything, never have. I check my blood sugar perhaps a few times a week. It's strange. When I was talking to the nurses 18 years ago when I was first diagnosed, they said "I won't be able to feel what my blood sugar is doing past 1 year". That was how many years ago? Lol. I still can.

Here, the best my A1C was, was 6.2, (with very few lows) if you want some help moderating your diabetes control, let me know. Mine is just awesome. I stopped seeing the specialist almost 10 years ago when he said to me "I have nothing else to teach you, you're doing amazing" hahaha. I just have my own way of dealing with it and it works quite well. You can count carbs in your head and always know how much insulin to take, it's seriously not the least bit hard. Also, you can plan out your schedule as per the usage rate of the insulin and what you're planning on doing work wise.

Edit: And no, I don't have a special diet, I eat whatever I want whenever I want, it's not hard at all to do, I'm in extremely good shape as well.

Atkins works, but if you get too carried away you'll be carried away in a body bag ...

Type 1 Diabetic ( I have been for 15 years) I have been doing a Keto diet since September. I have lost 35 lbs and went from 4 shots of insulin a day to 1 shot.

I'll keep you guys informed. My A1C is 10 so I have a lot of work to do. I have a type 1.5 diabetes.

    Current weight 143. Goal 100.

I'll post the results every week or so.

    p.s. Is Becel, Atkins friendly?
