Yea, but now the oil companies are shipping constrained regardless of if there is room.

And its really hard to run plants at partial capacity, shits meant to be run 80-100% all the time.
I haven't looked at how constrained they're running at different plants, but they do run smoother at 50-75% of nameplate. Running at 100% is like Drift racing. You're in control per se, but one parameter slip and you're into the wall.

We are well within your tremendously accurate range. 3.66 million bpd including a current cut of 225,000 bpd.

Let me math is out for you. 3.66/(3.66+0.225)x100=94%

Our total production is near all time highs, and January over January last year was up 2.5%. If you plot historical Alberta production, you will notice a nearly exponential growth curve.
And how many new plants, de-bottle necks, or expansion projects came online in that time? Albertas overall production does not tell the whole story.

As of yesterday WCS was selling for over $53 USD.

    Double meat is back baaaaaaabeeeeeeee
Diffs have improved so much since Dec. WCS stream was $5.97 US/bbl in Dec haha - before quality, tariffs, L/A, trucking, apportionment charges, etc. April settled really strong too and May is looking even stronger based on current trades anyway. I only care about lighter streams but they're all doing great.

If we never drilled another oil well in Alberta, the differential would disappear completely. that must be the best path to prosperity.

$54.27 as of yesterday for the W.

Too bad the differential is so low now we can’t ship by rail lol.

If these prices stick and line 3 comes on, UCP comes in - we need imperial to kick start aspen again.

There’s still outlook despite all this. Suncor meadow creek, and Husky is still putting 10-20,000 barrels of growth into the Lloyd play every year.

I imagine it gets approved but still doesn't get any closer to being built.

That's my bet. Approval but no construction

We must hire labourers based on diversity and not ability as to not disrupt the small town ecosystems with an influx of men building the pipeline.

I'm pretty optimistic we will see shovels in the ground quite soon. Did you guys see the article showing all the steel pipe being transported in anticipation of the approval?

Hah, now it's a government project I assume no expense will be spared to create the illusion of progress. Actual construction is a different thing entirely.

I wonder if this will have any impact on the vote today?

    Canada declares national climate emergency

I'm also guessing approval but skeptical about shovels in the ground any time soon. With a national climate emergency, all the more reason for the libs to double down on the carbon tax or delay actual construction while this emergency is still in effect.

and realeasing climate plan on Wednesday.. this seems to be orchestrated to kill the expansion. They say that they bought it, it's making money and will be profitable in xx years, and wont be expanding..

I would've sworn you were the one that said those pics were BS when I mentioned someone sharing them?

I'm somewhat optimistic too. Not because I think Libs actually want to build the pipe. But because they have such a poor approval rating, they need some type of hail marry to save their asses come October election. Getting the pipeline actually constructed could be that last minute play.

Not I. Don't think i saw that shared on here... my buddy sent it to me in a group chat.

At the end of the day, Lib gov't paid 4.5B for it. If it doesn't get built, this is easy ammo for opposing political parties to show how wasteful they are in the upcoming election. They are going to get it built one way or another IMO.

Just because it was making money does not mean it was worth 4.5 Billion. End of the day the 4.5 billion was money that the government did not need to spend, aside from placating their own corrupt ideals.
