Tomorrow will be a good day to own oil stocks.

So after a few market days to settle things down, it looks like this has added $2/bbl to the price of Brent. Went from $66 point something to $68 point something. Now $2 on $66 is only 3%, so really, ho hum, no big deal. I think a significant risk premium was already baked in to the prices. Now a sustained disruption to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz would really move the needle as it could restrict actual supply. What happens on the land is a side-show. What happens in that 100 square kilometers of ocean is the real deal.

On the plus side, the rig count in Canada is almost at 250! Significantly more than most analysts predicted.

I feel like I'm going to have nothing to be angry about once trans mountain, coastal gaslink, and KXL are all operating.

I'll only post in the "nice" thread I guess?

Don’t worry, it will be tax season soon enough.

That's only a problem for double- meat one percenters like you. I don't earn enough to get mad about tax.

In other news - get your life preservers ready - The USA broke their record again.

13 million barrels a day production. That is unbelievable.

I’m estimating we see 14 million this year too. Or more!!

I haven't checked all these projects and numbers, but from a linkedin post here's the various "capacity adding" projects underway, proposed or recently completed:

@Darkane here's the latest update from the folks at ShaleProfile. It's imperfect data, but it's the best free mineable data set I know. Permian Basin Production through the end of October 2019. If you squint, you can convince yourself that the final month is flat. But then again, one data point doesn't make (or break) a trend. It'll take a few months before the real trend is revealed.

You'd need to see the broader EIA data show a rollover to really believe this.

It matches the EIA production updates. Awaiting today’s, possible 13,100?

    Oil is getting cheaper again.

I hope the low price scares away another 30 rigs in Texas for a few months.

Doesn't matter if I make 100$ or a million bucks. Stealing 50% of my shit is still enough to make me angry.

With them lumping C5 in there it makes the numbers sound suspect as they are obviously trying to inflate them. Either way, good to see production going up.

@ExtraSlow that wings and a pint is looking mighty good right now

Although this isn't the final hurdle ... They have 60 days to appeal it to the supreme court still (Which I assume they well just for the sake of trying to stall things further)
