Where in Calgary #29

I have a park named after me and am still a source of fresh running water now located well within Calgary's borders. Natives, early explorers and settlers have camped or lived near me for centuries because I always could provide fresh water. I also lie within 700 meters of Calgary's largest park.

What and where am I?

Fish Creek. Located within Fish Creek Prov. Park in the SW of Calgary?

Not Fish Creek, that is a large urban park in Calgary but not a park owned by the city of Calgary.

Not Laycock Park.

I searched the city's web site quite extensively and couldn't find it there although it is listed by it's address on the city's web site - very interesting that a historical site like this with a park named after it that even has signage at it's location isn't named so anywhere on the city's web site.

By the way, I am not a lake or pond or river/creek/stream but I probably run year round.

Doh, I had the wrong name in mind anyway Egerts was the one I was thinking of. Laycock is down by nose creek.

Not Egerts but there are probably many who don't know where that park is.

Nose Hill Spring Park.

John Laurie Park. Nose Hill is the largest park but there is a water storage at John Laurie Park.

Nose Hill Spring Park it is - can we assume a couple of you have been there? Google Maps link although their marker is just a bit west of the actual park.

Couldn't this just be made into one thread titled "where in Calgary thread". Makes more sense than making a different one every time.. Just sayin'

Used to smoke up and drink there when I was underage. We all believed that if you took a leak in the spring the ghost of a native chief would come up and rip your dong off.

OK, I didn't know this one was there, and I have been in or near that area hundreds of times. I will go check it out.

Thought about that but then a single thread will become very large over time and things can and will get lost. This way, every new one is a fresh start with the exception of #27 which is the street art series - that one can move along on it's own because of what it contains.

do one thread.

one contest at a time. when it is solved, then you start new contest in same thread.

maybe have contest logo you post with each new picture or clue so people know where to start

Frick, never would have guessed - knew there was a spring in egerts once upon a time...

Sadly did live a few blocks from where nose hill springs is too - didn't know that existed...
