If she has a handicapped placard, then she can park there. If she doesn't, the penalty is the same for her as it is for anyone else who parks in a handicapped spot without a placard.

^ If you're seriously handicapped, wouldn't it be your priority to get a handicapped card?

Also, the officers don't wait to see who is in the car to ticket it or not, they come around when you're not there and ticket based on whether or not there is a placard in the window.

I've also heard regarding handicap spots that just the markings painted on the ground isn't enough. To be a proper spot it also needs a stand up sign saying so.

If she has the placard she has the right to use the spot. If she is not eligible for a placard, she does not...pretty simple.

When I got out of the hospital and was all fucked up for a few years, I had a temporary placard even though I had "both my legs" and could walk well enough.

couldnt find my insurance card... i have insurance but didnt have the updated one on me. cop called my insurance company and confirmed my insurance is valid... but you know what? still got a ticket... why? cause you need your card on you. rules make everything so much more cut and dry

I'm pretty sure it's still difficult to get in and out of the car, even if it looks natural.

i do believe that the card is the only way to prove that a vacant vehicle parked in a permit requiring stall is in fact qualified to park there... yes

not really.... follow the rules and life goes on. my grandma carries her card in her purse.. can toss it on the dash of any vehicle she is in

i believe some places have an endorsement on the license plate. would you prefer this? its tied to a single car, and also has a sigma tied to it since its broadcasted to all road users that you have a disability

Substitute drivers license for insurance. Then its the same as needing to have the placard with you.
