Default Beyond crashing a safari on iPad

For the last several days, Beyond has been crashing my Safari whenever I navigate from one page to another, after viewing a few pages previously. This doesn't happen with any other sites, just beyond. Is this happening to anyone else?

Nope. And I'm on my IPad more than my desktop for beyond.

Weird, I even cleared the 3 things in settings as recommended on the web, still happening. Only on this site though, strange.

Yup... on my iphone. Cleared everything and I could get to the forum, log in, view a thread... anything after = crash. It's been happening for a week now. I just gave up. Some days its good. Other days are bad.

I'd say I view beyond about 90% of the time on desktop.

I have had issues since IOS 8.2. Havent upgraded to 8.3 yet.

The crashes correct themselves pretty quickly. Probably less to do with beyond and more to do with VB anyways.

I've had crashes on my iPad ever since the floating advertising bar on the bottom of the main page was brought in. It is intermittent for some reason though.

Sounds dumb, but have you turned the iPad off and on?

What versions of iPhones and iPads, as well as iOS are you using on the ones that are crashing?

And have you done the force close (double click home, swipe up) and reboot method to fix Safari?

That's what i do and it usually fixes the issue yea, at least for an hour or 2. I have most issues on my ipad Mini gen 1 ( i think its a lack of ram issue), ios 8.2. My iphone 5 sometimes locks up but it resolves itself usually, ios 8.2.

I'm running 7.1.2 -downgraded after seeing how much 8 slowed down my browsing. This is a gen 3 ipad. I don't have problems with any other sirs, but beyond causes crashing every 3rd page click or so.

Yep, I've tried that. Also tried clearing all Safari stuff, hard reset, etc.

We haven't changed anything recently, so not sure what might cause that. I'll test it out on my old iPhone 4 when I get home tonight, that's still running 7.1.2 so hopefully I can duplicate it.

i have a feeling it has more to do with mobile webkit than beyond personally.

I used to use Chrome, but noticed it was always super slow, and then read that Apple has some special proprietary code that allows Safari to run faster than all other browsers. I'm not a computer expert, so I don't know the details, but I did notice that Safari runs faster than any other browser on my iPad.

My Safari still crashes about every fourth or fifth page on beyond. But, it doesn't crash in any other websites.

So I finally spent some time on this last night, and my safari crashes once every 30 to 100 pages on my iPhone 4 with iOS 7. There is no pattern at all as to why it's crashing. Even on a test profile with no ads, it's crashing, as I figured ad changes are something beyond our control and the most likely culprit. Other than that, our changes have been purely cosmetic. I tried using Chrome and I couldn't get it to crash.

Oddly enough, on iOS 8 with my iPad Mini, I can make it crash every time on the post reply (not quick reply) by clicking the youtube button to enter a youtube ID. It works fine on my iPhone though. It's just a simple popup too so I'm chalking this one to an iOS bug on iPad Mini.

I'll see if I can find more time to try to figure out a pattern.

I thought this was just only me, but it happens on only beyond.ca for me too. I have had 3 generations of iPads and it will occasionally crash all the time. Thanks for bringing up the subject.
