But hey, at least you have your job!
This is just as much rhetoric/mongering as anything the PC's are doing. You (as in anyone) can spin these things however it best fits your personal agenda.

You guys could use some change there, no question, but be careful what you wish for....no matter how good a particular Candidate may seem, what they want really doesn't mean shit as they have to tow the company line so to speak. If you really think the core platform and ideals of the NDP is one of success in modern times, in spite of all the tried and tested results in other places, go for it. Remember to update this thread in 2 terms though with the result.

As others have stated, a minority gov't is the best thing right now, they'll all be forced to make concessions to their ideals to get anything done. Checks and balances are good things, regardless of the party in power.

If a newer area of the city burned down due to lack of a fire station, would you blame the people who chose to move to that area?
Actually, yes. When I buy a house, I look where the nearest fire station is. Maybe I'm picky, but I like to ensure that I live near the services that I value. Schools, Fire stations, grocery stores etc. Others must not place much value on those things.

For anyone who wants to vote strategically, there is a handy website that can assist you in maximizing your impact in your riding.
    http://changealberta.ca/

In my riding, NDP is the "winnable" candidate.

A major issue is that CBE isn't allowed to build for future predictions, only based on current numbers. Kinda asinine policy, not a funding issue.

As for BC medicinal system, they have one of the largest private parallel systems in the country and it seems to be working, but the left leaning parties here would flip over doing it here.

Probably because the website is run by NDP members. Read the bios under the about tab.

Maybe we go need 4 years of brutal conditions to teach people that everything has a price. I'd be willing to bet that once the people championing all these feel good promises realize it kills them financially, they take a different tune.

Should scrap the election, extend this term to 8 years, split the seats 3 ways and make them cooperate for once.

I think this will happen and it will be a good thing for AB. Kick the Prentice/PCs arrogance to the curb and make them play in a sandbox with others .

Exactly. At the end of the day, I am pretty sure what we all want is a prosperous Alberta with the lowest taxes possible and decent services that don't leave people dying in the streets.

As Phreak has said, the PC party policies aren't the problem necessarily. Its the PC party themselves.

It's also based on population growth as well. So if you had 60,000 kids in your area 2 years ago and 60,000 kids this year, you wouldn't qualify.

Have you noticed that the people with the biggest objection to the NDP are not even from Alberta?

They have lived under parties that they tell us are terrible. Yet we have lived under a terrible party for 42 years, and those from outside the province advise us to keep it.

What ruined B.C. was the fact that the Russians started producing cheap paper and then print media seriously declined. This shut down the pulp mills.

The next blow was that the Americans started fishing out the waters, (thank the British for the pan handle), and that killed the fishing industry.

The federal government affected B.C. by sending ship building contracts to the east. The feds changes to E.I. affected seasonal workers. Which there are a lot of in B.C.

So in short, you can aim your guns at the B.C. NDP. But they aren't the Alberta NDP, so what is the issue?

I know what the Alberta PC are like. I only know what the NDP promises. I will take those promises, over the PC promises, because the PC never keep their promises.
