Default Waste Management Bagster - Dumpster in a Bag?

    Hi guys,

I'll be having a few projects going on this spring/summer out in the yard. I'll be removing dirt and sod, possible even pulling out a pond which will need to be taken away to the dump.

I came across a Home Depot option which looks to be affiliated with the company Waste Management (WM), that allows you to purchase a "Bagster - Dumpster in a Bag" for $39.99 and then you have WM come and pick it up for a fee of $199.45. These bags seem to have a limitation which automatically restricts how much can be put, and are a one time use.

I currently don't have a trailer hitch installed on my SUV therefore don't have the option to rent a trailer and take it to the dump myself. So I'm wondering if any other options/suggestions are available?

    Thanks.

There are weight limits on those bags. I don't think they want you putting sod and soil into them.
you should look into the roll-off bin options as well. They are larger, and can take more weight.

Or just pay Spikers to do it. That's my go-to suggestion for anything that sounds like real work.

Like stated above try contacting heavyfuel and see what his rate is for disposal, it's always better to help out a smaller business

I believe HeavyFuel can assist with this as well.

The bag cost is fine, but the pickup price is a bit out there. Is there possibly another company other than WM that would pick it up? Or does it have to be them? I had a crap load of stuff that old renters left that included couches, mattresses and misc crap and I called a junk removal company that took everything for about $200.

My experience with the bagster bags is that the capacity is limited (holds less than you'd imagine) and that ends up costing more than you'd expect.

My thought is you're better off with a roll-off bin. In my case it would've been cheaper and easier.

We recently used a bin at our rental house, and they were efficient & cheap! I was surprised they even credited $ back and provided a landfill receipt from the City of Calgary.

    (403) 671-2171 give them a shout.

Put any furniture on kijiji for free, and some dirtbag will come and pick it up within days.

People will definitely pick up the dirt if it's in an easy spot to get, and I guarantee someone will grab that pond.

Ahhh bagsters... Great idea in theory. WM use a 10-ton bin truck with a crane and outriggers and dozens of times each year I get a call from a customer who either placed it in an inaccessible location or overloaded it and the bag can't be lifted without bursting.

Paying to dispose of stuff is always less than ideal, but believe me trying to go the cheapest possible route with disposal can and often will cost you more time and money in the end.

I may try the bagster for my project next week.

I need to remove drywall and insulation from two bedrooms, and about 150sqr ft of carpet from another.
