You must be with TD. They enforce $5k deductible on anything over $100k, I had to negotiate with them to drop it down to $2.5k on the CLS, but they wouldn't budge on the BS.

I checked out this car recently (didn't drive it) and in early days of this car, it's far from perfect.
    1. No dash/ center console storage space
    2. Touch screen that is more distracting than useful
    3. Poor quality of interior.

Although, you have to love optional 6/7 seats and great amount of trunk (X2) space - for that reason alone I loved it.

I feel like this is similar to early days of iphones, except that there are 3 extra zeros which forces people not to jump on the bandwagon.

This car definitely has potential, let's see where Tesla takes it from here.

@rage2: I am with TD. We have all our other insurance through them and they have been easy to deal with. I don ever claim anything unless it's big anyways.

@max: sure thing! It's be too long since I've seen the OG's.

@ragu: the screen is what everyone comments on when they look at the car. I find it really functional and intuitive. The big rear camera view is excellent. I can see everything on it and gives me a lot of confidence using it because it's so big and clear. The scree is distracting at first but I got used to it. I even leave the rear camera view on all the time now. I don't even notice it until I want to use it to look at something behind me.

The centre console was a concern for me. I was going to get the centre console option but the people on the tesla forums convinced me to try and see if I like the space. It turns out i like the space between the seats. Don't get me wrong, it would be great to have some extra storage. Maybe a place for spare change would be nice. The little nook under the centre display is good until I accelerate then everything ends up on the ground. The space between the seats has been very useful for holding my meals as I end up eating in my car fairly often. It's also a nice place for my wife's purse.

I was in Calgary on Monday and saw a P85D ahead of me on the Deerfoot and I pulled up next to see what type of person would be driving and I was very disappointing by the 55+ white woman driving lol

For the guys that have Tesla's on here, do you ever make the Calgary to Edmonton trip? I ask because 2 of my last 3 trips back from Calgary I have passed Tesla's on the highway between Red Deer and Edmonton. To me it seems like a risky trip which probably explains why both times the vehicles were barely doing the limit as I went by.

Doesn't Red Deer have a charging station? That would eliminate the risk...

That is impressive, I didn't realize they made it into AB yet.

Although now I am just irritated by how slow they were driving lol

There's also one in Canmore. You can actually drive all the way to Vancouver on Tesla Superchargers. By the end of 2016 they plan to connect Calgary down to Montana. From there you can connect to their existing network and go east all the way to the coast or south/west to Vegas, San Fran, LA and further.

Would've failed today for the Tesla. They closed the highway west of Chase, we had to double back to Sicamous then back towards Vernon to get to Kamloops (the next supercharger on the route after Revestoke).

That would suck. If you knew that going into Revelstoke or Salmon Arm you could just head down via Vernon. That wouldn't be a problem. If you didn't find out until Chase that could be a problem. You'd have to stop in Vernon for an unscheduled charge at a non-Supercharger (probably a Sun Country charger). Then you are talking probably at least a couple hours of delay.

This is where google maps with traffic really helps. Definitely not as convenient as gas stations.

Lol. Gambling will get ya everytime.

In the markets, if you're not on the inside, you are on the outside, and if you believe different, odds are you'll get fried.

You won't generally beat "the house".

Stock tanked today. Loss tripled due to high capex on rolling out the X and Tesla Energy.

In lighter news, Teslas will soon be able to plug in with no human intervention. You just pull into the garage and go straight into the house - don't even need to worry about plugging in the car anymore.

    Tesla fucking rules.

And now available with bigger battery and their 700+hp ""Ludicrous Mode", plus you can option it to be virtually self driving.

Obviously, somone there is a Spaceballs fan.

Tesla is not without it's warts though. I've bought and paid for this "Autopilot" feature that I still don't have 10 months after it was demonstrated at the D launch event. I'm on the list for the Ludicrous upgrade since the day it was announced but Tesla Vancouver (and everywhere else) has no idea how, when, or how much labour the upgrade will cost. It's been almost a month since they revealed the upgrade.

Tesla has a problem with over promising and delays. In the end, they seem to come through and even over deliver but there's a running joke on the Tesla forums of "Tesla Time" and it is not a compliment.

These are extreme first world problems. I'd still buy the car if they only promised the features I already have but it does show a breakdown somewhere along the line between what Tesla wants to do and what it can do. To me it shows the company still has some grow up to do and will not be without it's growing pains.
