Calgary Expo 2015

Anyone checkout Calgary Expo this year? Pickup any deals or interesting stories, I had a VIP pass which sure came in handy for all the lineups for autographs/photo ops.

I got autographs from David Morrissey, Scott Wilson, Danai Gurira, Stephen Amell, Hayley Atwell, Matt Ryan, Harold Perrineau and Jason Momoa. Picked up Garret Wang and Rene Auberjonois for a friend who's in to Star Trek. Got some books signed by Jae Lee and Ray Fawkes, I was disappointed with Jae Lee has he didn't even acknowledge me as he was chatting to a friend and the colorist got it signed for me.

David Morrissey, Matt Ryan and Harold Perrineau were awesome and chatted to those guys for 10mins or so, Stephen Amell and Hayley Atwell were cool but there lineups were huge and you just got a few secs to ask them a question, Hayley Atwell was stoking hot close up. I think I pissed off Danai Gurira as I asked her a question how she got the part and missed heard her say through auditions and I thought I heard through agent (she was soft spoken and lots of noisy peeps in her lineup), so I said didn't you audition? and she kind of snapped back I auditioned 3 times, good job she didn't have a katana with her

My quest was to get a VF to NM copy of New Mutants 98 or Amazing Spider-Man 300 this year, but prices were out of whack with copy's of VF for over $350 to $450 range, picked up early Walking Dead and Daredevil copy's in $20 to $30 range instead.

My cousin had an extra ticket so I went and my wife tagged along. She was hoping to catch a glimpse of her crush Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo/Aquaman/Conan the Barbarian.) She was even considering paying for a picture or autograph. We were walking through the exhibition hall when guess who happens to pass right by us!? She ended up chatting him up for a solid 20 minutes and helping him pick a plague-doctor mask at the booth we were in. Super nice guy. We got tons of pics and video and she was ecstatic, talk about mission accomplished! Will post pics later when I get home.

judging by this thread, I am one of two people from beyond who went this year.

I would've liked to have gone but I was down at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim which was the same weekend.

After that event I'll never complain about lines and crowds again.
