Take it to standens. That where I plan on having a bumper made and welded on.
My brother is a welder, he did mine.
Super solid. IMO a worthwhile investment
extended it about a foot out the back with 2x3 tube and 2x4 for the bumper, i intend to throw one of those aluminum truck boxes on there for my blocks, straps, carpet etc... outdoor stuff,

They do more than leaf springs. I recently had my drive shaft balanced there. Give them a call.Originally posted by codetrap
I searched for Standens welding.. and came up with a leaf spring manufacturer?

If you don't mind, post pics after.
Does that price of $425 include the hitch?

Yes, that's the shop they are referring to. They are also THE people to go to with any kind of trailer issues. Only place around I would take a trailer for an alignment or any kind of trailer suspension work.Originally posted by codetrap

That hitch you got made looks pretty good. Not exactly beautiful welding, but it'll hold. Do you know what they coated it with? Just HD paint, or something more?

not sure if you mentioned this or not but do you happen to have any idea how much weight this is adding to the back of your trailer? including any stuff you'd be hauling?
just curious how this will affect your tongue weight and any possibility of sway.
