I thought it was about time to put up a review. This is not a pity or rant story, I'm past that now, but a summary of data points to help other home buyers know what they will get based on my experience with Calbridge.
It's been 2 years since I have built the home. This was an estate home and not a 300-600K house. I'll keep it short and post some facts, but feel free to PM if you have questions.
1. The process was very frustrating. If I ran a business this way I would/should be out of business. They stated 6 months to complete, if I was quick on the selections. I completed my selections in 1 week. The house was not completed until a year, which is normal. However, i had been informed verbally otherwise, never got an update and had to ask myself. In this case I bought all new furniture which had to pay for storage for another 6 months and keep in my basement of my other house.
2. Quality - 4 main walls were not straight. floors had gaps in them to the point of twoonies. All of my concrete (pads and driveway) were cracked before even driving on it. Almost all my windows were leaking. Finishings and some of the repairs were shit. I've provided some sample pics. I have to say the cabinet guys at Legacy were great though.
3. Service - Sure I got a bunch of things fixed through new home warranty. However, it was a fight and took lot of the time and effort. They took over 12 weeks of actual onsite time to get all the issues fixed ( I actually had get a family member out to watch them for that time, as I couldn't take work off) and some of the fixes are not even close to par.
4. I spoke to Larry Thompson and his quality team and gave him the opportunity to hear my concerns. We had a professional and objective conversation and he seemed to listen and was pleasant, but nothing ever happened on his end to make things right. His head supervisor, came over and review things and after all my complaints he finally said we're sorry. They offered to have someone clean my house, but that really didn't solve any issues or make me feel better.
Overall, it's been frustrating. They replaced a lot of things like the floors, sealed the window leaks and attempted to fix walls, but a number of issues still persist and I'm slowly getting to fixing them myself.
