    Default Searching Phone Numbers?

Number calls your phone and you don't know who it is...is there a website that you can search to see which carrier it is? who it belongs too? when you use google its just a bunch of useless websites that come up

    Thanks for your help
Sometimes you have to take a chance, whether that be on someone, or something!

Which carrier, as in, who 'owns' the bank of numbers?

Try doing an NPA-NXX search on a site like this:

    http://localcallingguide.com/lca_prefix.php

FYI: NPA is the area code, and NXX is the first 3 digits of the phone number.

This won't tell you the name of the person using that number, of course.

It also won't help if the caller has spoofed their caller ID info.

Here's another link to see which carrier owns a particular bank of numbers, click on the area code you're looking for and it'll give you the list.

    http://www.cnac.ca/co_codes/co_code_status.htm

Again, if the number is spoofed then it means nothing. You also have no recourse against a particular carrier to prevent any calls from coming to you.

I thought there were experimental google/android stuff where it auto tells you the company calling you.

Had it working for awhile, then suddenly quit working.

But just get the call control app. There's a "community" feature so you don't need to be blocking every # as it changes. Everyone else reports and you benefit.

The problem with this app is that you could be blocking real numbers - that's because spammers like the Hilton/Marriott vacation idiots are spoofing numbers when they call you including real, in-service numbers. They could very well call you and make it look like they're calling you from your telephone number.

Yeap. I've had a couple of people calling my cell asking why I called them, when I didn't. Someone just spoofed my number randomly.
