Start listing all your items on Kijiji ASAP. Takes a while to sell but way less hassle then a garage sale. I did this a few months back when I moved out of my place and planed on refurnishing the new one. You get some stupid people but I managed to make $4-5k over the course of a month from stuff like old DVDs up to furniture.

I hope this goes through for you.

I basically gave everything away to family! I downsized all my furniture and bedding too lol I rented an extra storage locker in the condo for my sporting stuff. Living in a condo definitely prevents you from hoarding.

Is it too late to start sucking up to you? can only imagine the goodies youve acquired. Its going to be a big adjustment space wise but I would move to Van in a second too if it werent for all my family here.

Which listing is it if you don't mind me asking? I recall that I liked the layout of your house before, but can't seem to recognize it now.

Boardwalk REIT is now the most shorted stock in North America.

    Hey Sugar,
    I'm actually the opposite, lol.
If you have larger tools and equipment and a "shitload" of stuff you'd like to sell, I may need some of that haha. Just need to know what you want to unload. I have a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home and garage I'd love to fill with some more tools, equipment, and stuff

You can buy/take it back when you move back to Alberta one day

When the next open house? I'll come around with post-it notes and claim items before the pre-sale

You guys think the 15% foreign investor tax in Vancouver will promote more investors into Calgary?

I think it makes Victoria, Calgary, Toronto look much more competitive in terms of pricing. Already cheaper and lower taxes.

I read an article about the realtor who's listing the home with a higher price and offering a 15% discount to foreign buyers.

No, I don't think the tax will push them to Calgary. Not right away anyways. And if they need jobs, they won't go to Victoria. That's where motivation goes to die. (edit: yes, I know these aren't working class plebs, I was just sayin')

I dont think many of these people buying 2 million dollar plus homes are looking at jumping into Vancouvers job market to get paid a simple 60k per year.

If the 15% tax makes the foreign buyers go elsewhere, it will be just outside of Vancouver or other places in BC. I highly doubt they will all of a sudden want to come to Calgary and definitely not all the way to Toronto. Calgary was always way cheaper and it didn't help before so a slightly larger gap won't help imo.

I know.. thats why I moved out of Canada lol

but many of the Chinese investors are not living in Vancouver. So many homes vacant (rotting really) in Vancouver. So many of the purchases are more of an investment than relocating/living purposes
