Wow, 4 car garage backing onto a lake! Congrats Buster!
Please start a reno thread! I like the layout but agree it looks pretty dated.

Congrats Buster, watched this house come on the market, disappear, and the relist at the last asking. I moved into the community a couple years ago and love it. Looking forward to seeing a Reno thread from you and what you fill the 4-car garage with.
Where do you live in the community?

CREB reporting fifth consecutive month of price declines. Detached and apartment sales are lower, but attached sales are higher. I wonder if that is because previous apartment buyers are able to move into attached, or previous detached buyers are choosing lower priced attached homes?
I know it's the wrong thread, but I couldn't find a suiting one..
Does anybody know a builder that could do a rustic renovation? The fiancee and I are now talking about buying some good bones, tearing it down to the studs and having a very rustic renovation done. We could do a lot of the demo & other easier works on our own, but I would want to bring in some good trades to do the majority of the work.
Any suggestions where to start? We would be budgeting about $250-$300k to renovate, and we are looking at 1700-2000sf bungalows (There are no 2 stories under $1m where we are looking) to complete them in.
Cheers.
^Foothills Renovations is pretty damned good at that stuff

I was speaking with some of my friends in the PE world, and a couple of management teams in new O+G development companies today. There seems to be an impression that we have hit the bottom somewhere in here.
Speaking to some realtor type it also seems that people sitting on cash are pulling the trigger on good deals in the $1MM + house range, too.
Going to check out one of Jordan's listings tonight. Pretty excited to see the home!
Went to the grand opening for Rock Lake 5 Lakes and all lots are still $400-463k. Showhomes were $1.1-1.25M and the best discount was a $30k credit. This is the same if not more than last year.
i think that area is a rip off for what your getting my parents live across the street they built a bigger house and what not for 400k less and they moved in last yearOriginally posted by phreezee

Not quite sure where to put this and didn't want to make a new thread....
Browsing on MLS I came across this pretty well known house in SW, that I refer to as "the house with the gargoyles". Im sure a lot of you will be familiar with it. I was always curious what it looked like inside. Looks like pretty much the whole place needs to be upgraded, and not a fan of the layout either. Disappointed there are no pictures of the inside of the garage.
Anyone know who owns it?

and I thought I had an uphill climb with the oak.
Wow, looks like it's occupied by Chinese owner currently. Probably some old 50-70 year old that has no sense on style but got money to blow.
Seen so many houses decorated like that in China.

You'd think with a $3+ mil house they could afford an interior designer.
That house was as being built for years. Rumours were the owner ran out of money and it sat.Originally posted by leftwing

The gargoyle house yep.
