Happy Friday.
Little off topic, listing, which has long expired showcases the best real estate photos in the biz. wonder why it didn't sell?

That place looks like Guantanamo
Looks like they were probably just trying to sell a 37x150 corner lot for redevelopment.
Hah, that reminds me of the listing for the place we bought.
- 1 exterior photo
- 3 photos of the messy, crowded living room
- 2 photos of the entrance stairwell for some reason
- 1 photo of the entrance closet
- 1 photo of the guest bedroom, uncleaned
- 1 photo of the office, full of clutter
- 1 photo of one small corner of the yard
- No photos of the master bedroom
- No photos of the master bath or ensuite bath
- No photos of the kitchen
- No photos of the large yard or trees
- No photos of the garage
- No photos of the basement
Totally bizarre. Not a single image of the major selling points of the property. No wonder it sat on the market for a month before we even looked at it.
While house shopping, it drove me nuts that almost no one posted garage pictures. Thanks for the 5 shots of your back yard from every angle, but I want to see how big that sumbish garage is.Originally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

Also, angles and context. Of the place we bought, they had a kitchen photo that made it feel like the 2 counters were back to back and the kitchen was tiny. We come check it out in person, and it's 6ft of room between the counters..

I love the custom woodwork.... built in bunk beds, shelving and more!
So true! At least give garage measurements, not just "2 car garage" or whatever. Half my house hunting time was spent using Google Maps to measure garage dimensions from the satellite images. That said, I'll admit that's more of a niche concern these days.Originally posted by LilDrunkenSmurf

It just boggles the mind how some realtors don't make the bare minimum effort to take half-decent photos of the property.
I didn't find out the dimensions of my garage until my lawyer pulled a land survey.

Garage size is easy, if the realtor writes "oversized double garage" it means it is 20x20... lolOriginally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

I agree with you though, pet peeve of mine.
When I bought my house the realtor selling the place made a youtube video. Got an entire walkthrough of the place from a pixellated iphone
True, although it seems most people just leave the truck in the driveway these days. Too big for your average suburban double.Originally posted by sputnik

Nonsense. You've all got slanty eyes, play Starcraft, speak Chinese and eat nothing but sushi and ginger beef.
DON'T TRY AND CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE

so true, which is criminally small imo. If you can't park a car in a garage it's not a garage.Originally posted by blownz

It's not a niche demand when you factor in the garage door takes away 6inches, sideways facing stairs take away 3 feet, and you need 6 inches front and back of your car so you don't ram the house or have the door shave your bumper everytime it closes. so you're looking at 16 feet of actual space to park a car in it if you leave inches to spare, and that eliminates every suv and midsize car, and above.
my garage is 22 feet and it's barely livable. I looked at new housing designs last week too, and one stood out on the wtf is this shit meter. 2300ish sq ft, close to 600k, and a 18 ft garage... That is a single car garage with storage space on the side imo.
I also noticed a lot of plans are not listing the size of the garage in their online plans or printouts at show homes... probably hoping people assume it's a good size and don't realize it's crap before they sign the papers.
