    Thumbs up LS3 Exocet

    Exocet 'XP5' (Experimental Prototype #5) Chassis Fabricated by Tie Down Engineering's Industrial Laser Solutions Division. Designed and built by Exomotive. LS3 / 525HP GM V8 crate motor mated to a T56 transmission, and a CTS-V diff with 3.23 gearing. 1696LB full fluids and fuel curb weight. Special thanks to the Exomotive Team for making XP5 possible. Tyler French the Master Builder, Warren van Nus the Chief Engineer and designer of the USA produced Exocet Chassis, and Kevin Patrick the President and Founder of Exomotive responsible for bringing the Exocet design to the shores of North America. Proudly made in Atlanta GA, USA. Video taken at the 2014 North America Fabrication Technology Expo (FABTech) in Atlanta Ga.

    Exomotive has kit pricing on their website but you are looking at big money to make a V8 powered one.

    I am planning on building a standard Exocet when my Miata becomes very rusty in the future and the body is no good anymore.

    Looks like you'd need the kit $7000-8300 a donor Miata $5000-10000 as well as an LS3 + T56 $7500-15000 and a rear end $2500 so you'd be looking at 22-36K plus whatever other upgrades you'd want to make...... race seats, big brakes, coilovers, wheels/tires etc.

    If you wanted to do it on the cheap with a Miata motor it could probably be done for <15K

    Seems like a really similar concept to the Factory Five 818 but the question is, is it as easy to import into Canada as the Factory Five kit?
