    Default Light Bar Wiring Question

I have a light bar that came with the pre-installed relay. I have it installed with a switch, however find using the switch on top of using the high beams a bit cumbersome, plus I usually only use the light bar if the high beams are on tanyways (not on highways!)

So ideally, I want to be able to have the LED switch on, and LED only come on when I have the high beams on. Or have the high beams on, and LED switch off (i.e., regular highway driving)

Can I do a fuse tap to the high beam fuse where the relay is pulling power from? #30 if I remember right

    Thanks

Sounds about right. Get the signal wire from high beams and you can have the switch in the cabin to interrupt that signal if you don't want the LED bar on with high beams.

you might need to use a relay, depending on how much power the bar draws.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Thaco, relay already there. It's pulling power straight from battery. Thinking I can instead pull power from the fuse for the high beams, using a fuse tap.

if there's a relay there, leave it wired direct to the battery, then tap the relay signal wire through the (manual)switch, and then to the highbeams wire near the bulb... i believe the fuse would be before your highbeams switch, and therefore not work as you expect.

Very easy to do, you need a spdt switch and relay, add a circut plug, and some extra wires to go from your high beam fuse to the switch.
I have an almost identical setup that's been working perfect for years.
