I'm sorry that you haven't got to discover what Calgary has to offer, it seems like you just need to get out more before making a valid comparison. Don't like 17th? How about Kensington? Inglewood? 4th? Marda Loop? Stephen Ave? Bowness? I don't think Edmonton has a place comparable to Sushi Bar Miki or Notable.
Just sounds like you've seen more of Edmonton than Calgary, that's all.
Kensington is pretty lame.. All those places you listed has zero night life. If you've seen how vibrant Whyte is at night you'd understand.
LOL @ Sushi Bar Miki and Notable. Those 2 places are actually quite bad. I am not even sure why people like Notable. But exactly my point - I don't think Calgarians really understand what is good food.
Sushi in Edmonton: Wasabi (111th I think?) is amazing. And Kyoto downtown is spectacular for the price, and ironically run by Chinese people (which I tend to avoid LOL).
Anyways, I'll leave it at that.
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!
