The M4 will likely be somewhat faster up here.

Debadged back and I'm sold.
I had a ride in a new c63s sedan at autocross this sumer and it was super impressive. The engine in these things sound just as good as the m156 Imo and it just pulls like a train in a straight line. The M4 really does not have much of a chance. I think it is actually outclassed by the c63s coupe. We will see how the track times are.
Wouldn't mind picking up a used c63s coupe in a few years
Only track comparison so far:

Willow Springs, both the C63S and ATS-V beat the M3 by a second.

And the Coupe looks to be a much better track car than the sedan due to track and tire widths. Whereas the M3 and m4 are VERY similar.Originally posted by rage2

The Coupe will be quicker.

Autocar's render of the C63 Coupe based on the latest spy shots.
Like austic says, wait for the rear to get unveiled. That's really going to shape the whole car.
Fixed that for you. And i don't think thats a bad thing.Originally posted by 89coupe

I still like the sedan lol
The M4 sure is fast.. I have been driving one for a week and it is surprisingly quick. It is really scary to drive fast though, it will easily break loose in a straight line which I am not used to with this kind of power.. with traction control / stability control (whatever the BMW name for it is) disabled the car is a handful. It isn't nearly as scary in the wet as I was led to believe by reviews but it is definitely a handful.
The straight line speed is amazing, much more exciting than the M6.

What's funny is I'm looking at the M4 right now, possible the convertible M4. The key differentiator (based on reviews) is that the M3/4 has a tough to handle rear end. It's fast, but you need to work the car to be fast, while the C63S Sedan is effortless to go fast, which is why it's beating the M3/M4 in reviews. I don't know if I can live with the other drawbacks yet (interior, noise). Power isn't a big deal, BMW underrated the shit out of the M3/M4. It's not much slower than the C63S in a straight line from what I've seen. I really need to go drive one.
I also think the front end of the M4 looks way more aggressive. Mid life crisis right here.
I'm reserving judgment until I see the new C63S Coupe in person. But being a fanboy, I'm probably all talk and end up with a Merc anyways.
I think you just sold him.Originally posted by E36M3

Gotta give credit where credit is due, it was Rob @ Tunerworks that sold it for me when he talked about his drive in the M4.

I think much like other demographics, 40 and over lean to MB.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
I've been trying to figure out lately why Chinese-Canadians are all going MB instead of Audi... I thought Audi was the darling German for Asia?
40 and under is all about Audi due to VW factory and over all design during the last decade. They are kinda pissing that away tho.
saw a C63s at the airport the other day... in vancouver. I must admit... I likey.
While the M3/M4 looks awesome, but let's be fair, it's no different than MB, another 3 series with "vents stuck all over it".Originally posted by Sugarphreak
The M4 is a gorgeously designed car... the MB just looks like another C-class with vents stuck all over it.

I think it's the wider fenders that separate M3/4 from the 3 series.Originally posted by rage2
snip
Doesn't the C63 use the same rear fenders as the C400 which is what limits them to such small tires in the back?
The only M car I've had an issue spotting was the e39 M5 - always thoughts the M-pack e39's looked just like the M5's except for the exhaust.
^
Last generation C/C63 was like that as well, probably to keep production costs down and give them the option to make a Black with a rear widebody.
The rear tires on the C63 isn't that much smaller than a M3/M4s'.

Correct. The M3/M4 have wider fenders front and back compared to the non M's.Originally posted by SkiBum5.0

The C63 Sedan has wider front fenders, but the rear fenders are identical to non AMGs.
The C63 Coupe has even wider front and rear fenders compared to the C63 Sedan/non AMGs. This allows the C63 Coupe to finally have tires equal (wider rear) to the M3/M4.
