I think it has to be an iphone 6.

Had a couple sent to me today. No crashes (yet), but I know who my asshole friends are lol.

The workaround is to not have the actual message show up in notifications. I never used show preview so I got lucky.

This would never happen on a BB. (If it did I'd have to wait 5 minutes for it to startup again. )

So much for the "iPhone doesn't get virus'" we can finally put that one to rest.

According to $$webopedia.com/TERM/V/virus.html[/url]$$ A computer virus is a program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes.

But we can call it whatever you like, do you have a name for it other than a virus? Really doesn't matter to me...

finally after 8 years the iPhone haters have something they can use to make themselves feel better about

I wonder why Apple doesn't just block messages with this text?

Good point, they control most other parts of the iPhone so why not that... Do you work for Apple?

By that definition beyond is a virus too because it's crashing Safari.

It's a bug in the code. Not a virus. Now, if it was a buffer overflow and you can send code for it to execute, then sure.

Never having to deal with iTunes, or proprietary plugs has always reason enough. But I digress.

At least Apple has an update system to get the fix into the field quickly Luckily this didn't come out during WWDC as all the crashing phones would've been chaos.

What really matters is this isn't really significant.

Well now, hold on. The ability to remotely reboot almost any iPhone without privilege is pretty significant. It's not catastrophic, but it's sure as shit something that needs to be taken seriously and fixed immediately.

The only laughable part of this discussion is that people are acting as if something similar hasn't happened on Android, Windows Phone or, shit, even PalmOS.
