Some of you may remember me from my infamous thread back in 2010 when I got a no insurance ticket. I came on to Beyond seeking advice, and when I didn't get the advice I wanted, cussed many of you out. I’m also pretty sure I was able to become one of the fastest people to be banned on here.
Here's the original thread: http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-298810-p-2.html
Anyway, I am now a 24 year old adult and realize that in retrospect, I probably deserved most of the jabs that came my way, as I was quite the punk at the time, even though I adamantly denied it.
I'm sure many of you are eager to hear the results of the court date and whether or not I was able to "evade that shit" like I said I would.
Believe it or not, I actually did evade that shit. I went to court on the 29th of April and my trial date or whatever you call it, was pushed back until December 23rd of that year. I figure I definitely had the Christmas holiday spirit and cheer to thank for my luck. I wrote a well-written lengthy letter to read to the judge and the prosecutor but didn't even get a chance to read it!
Before any trials had started that day, I spoke to the prosecutor (had my mom with me, and that probably helped) and briefly told him a bit about myself and my situation. He was very understanding and mentioned that he had been in a similar situation when he was around my age and that he was willing to drop the no insurance ticket, but requested that I still pay the no license and no registration ticket.
Pretty damn lucky eh?
Btw, I apologize for being such a punk ass kid to a lot of you. At the time, I was shitting my pants and didn’t believe I really did all that wrong other than knowingly driving without my class 5 license.
Thanks to the individuals who sympathized with me and didn’t judge me too hard because they remembered what it was like to be 18….you the real MVP’s!
