Default Going to France - Air Transat - Travel Insurance for Guitar/Bicycle?

Air Transat states on their website that they require a liability form signed that absolves them of responsibility in the event your musical instrument and/or bicycle are damaged in transit.

What can I do to get travel insurance on the quick? If I get a travel rewards credit card, would that cover me? Or would that only cover purchases made on the credit card?

Guitar is cheap, so I don't *really* care that much.

    Bike is worth about $2500.

Guitar will be in a hard shell case.

Bike will be in an EVOC bike bag.

In order to be covered by the travel credit card, the airfare must be bought through that card.

Have you checked RBC Insurance or AMEX? They sell products separately.

thinking about that, are flights booked through expedia or flighthub or any other travel sites covered through CC insurance?

I paid for the flight on my TD Emerald. I would upgrade to a flight reward VISA - but it sounds like I would've had to book the flight through that visa in the first place to get the insurance??

Booked through Google Flights/Directly on Air Transat website.

I'm not sure I'd trust Transat with my valuables, they are sketchy enough with how the treat passengers.

Separate insurance for your valuables would be the route I'd take at this point.

what about renting a bike there??

    http://www.francebikerentals.com/prices-availability

2014 Trek Domane 4.3 Triple i'm guessing is around same calibre as your bike?

About $200 EUROS for a week

less to carry, and worry. ANd what if your bike got damaged on the way there, that be a downer on the who trip, and what would you do with having to lug your bike around ?? or paying to have it fixed there.

I traveled air transat to france two years ago, the flight and staff seem average and on par with air canada and westjet. But other than strollers, never did see anyone lugging a evoc pack for a bike.

EVOC bag is still a soft shell case

I'm going to thoroughly read the policy but I'm sure that wherever you bought it from, as long as the airfare is charged through that credit card that offers insurance, you're covered.

I'd buy a separate insurance policy if I were you.

I'm 6'7 - Going to be tough to find a bike that fits properly. Mine is already fit for me (saddle/geo).

The EVOC bag is the best option - great reviews, and lots of padding to withstand abuse.

    2 weeks of rentals = $550CDN.

I'm staying with my Dad, so I'll be leaving the bike there.

Renting is really not an option - I'm looking into travellers insurance for sure.
