Amazing car. Ferrari built a turbo engine with zero turbo lag. Very worthy successor to the 458 and should give the hurican a run for its money.
Surprised that he doesn't think the 458 is a good sounding car and that the 488 actually sounds better. Regardless, phenomenal car which i one day hope to drive.
Love that 50FPS.
Let's not say zero turbo lag, let's say greatly reduced.Originally posted by Redlined_8000

You can clearly tell in the video it does. However, that engine itself would probably be comparable to say BMW 4L V8 in terms of NA power therefore it would feel very snappy which was the goal.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Wow, gorgeous car.
Just needs some E85 and more boost!
Seemed like the new engine's midrange is so explosive it needs to be tamed a bit. Sounded great.
I'm sure it's a great car, but I kinda want to hear turbo sounds if I have a turbo. Maybe people that can afford a Ferrari don't care but I do. Still my life goal is to own a Ferrari, but sell it before I have to do maintance on it.

inb4 it catches fire.
Only teenagers and young adults brought up on the F&F want to hear turbo sounds. There's a reason that Ferrari put a lot of resources into trying to make the engine sound as close to their NA engines as possible and that's because a good sounding NA engine blows the high pitched whine and blender sounds of turbocharged engines.Originally posted by danno

Just ask f1
I am really impressed by the car if that is the conclusion Chris Harris came with considering his opinions of Ferrari testing procedure. Car looks gorgeous too. Can't wait to see one on the street.
I'm all for both but if I have a turbo I like to hear it. The p1 sounds amazing to me. I have a v8 rs4 and it sounds great maybe I just have turbo envy right now.Originally posted by heavyD
