I got one last week. Was confused too, fines went up on may 1. I still don't think demerits. FYI any commercial drivers, it is only Mike phone and Cb radios that are exempt and the officer wasn't even sure of that. You supposed to be allowed to be in contact with your employer which I was, lesson learned I guess. And before I get shit on I have 2 Bluetooth set ups just made the choice not too use them nobody was ever in danger.

I don't actually think the demerits are in effect just yet. The price of the ticket itself went up because ALL tickets went up, not because that private members bill was passed. I don't think it's been proclaimed into law yet.
