    Default New iob

So we're starting a new job today. I won't show you the house just yet...but is this what YOUR mechanical room looks like?
    Yeah, mine neither.
and BTW. ..this is just one of two...there's more in another room
    52 "zones".
We're going to be there for a few months. Yes months.

Oh and while we're at it let's bring in 400 amps. Just one of many panels in the house. This is for the garage.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Yup..same here. There seems to be a new generation of plumber that doesn't want to solder anymore. Pex is garbage along with shark bites.

This is such an inaccurate statement. This $10 million dollar home has the entire domestic water system consisting of pex, as well as over 15,000 feet of in-floor heat tubing. There are certain applications that are better suited to copper and vice versa.
There are just as many failures from bad copper due to poor quality recycled copper and improper installation as there are from pex. Plus pex is much easier, cheaper, and quicker to repair, doesn't lose heat like copper, not to mention the Labour saving installation costs for an equal quality product, and it's resistance to bursting when frozen, unlike copper. Ideal for cold weather regions.
Why is your opinion that "pex is garbage"?

No issues with PEX piping, Poly B on the other hand is worse than garbage!

Yeah, I like Pex over copper. Way better insulation from pex, cheaper since copper is worth a billion bucks a pound, and crimp joints and it can flex!

I'm not a fan of plastic touching my drinking water. More comfortable with copper from a health point of view. I've also seen some nasty leaks from failed fittings. It has some nice advantages for a DIY, but I wouldn't use it for a lot of applications unless the access was really rough.

Copper is a heavy metal that can cause tons of different diseases depending on your sensitivity to it. Enough of it leaches that water distilled in copper stills retain enough copper that they can kill sensitive invertebrates in things like fish tanks.

I'm not saying you are going to die from copper pipes in your home. I am saying it is probably as likely to cause adverse health effects as Pex. Maybe more i don't know.

It might be completely safe, but I can't shake the feeling it's going to be the next aluminum wiring, or asbestos insulation.

That's too bad. You won't be able to live in a house built in the last 15-20 years then Every house uses pex.
    Every single one.

You could say the same about asbestos 30 years ago, or lead pipes. Doesn't mean it's safe.
