I never made a claim one way or the other of whether it's safe or not. I just stated a fact.
For all we know copper will prove to be like asbestos. Personally, I doubt that very much. Just as I doubt PEX to be less healthy than copper. I do believe that R&D has advanced far enough that Im confident that it's safe.

Personally this doesn't look too appealing to have my drinking water flow through either: (BTW. ..ever seen the insides of the 30 miles of supply line to your houses?)

you could say we know more about what IS safe now than we did 30 years ago... or else how would we know that the old tech was harmful?

You would think that wouldn't you, but..

    Example:
It is generally accepted that of the three types of PEX (called type A, B, or C), type B is the only formulation that does has not been suspected of any leaching considerations. As such, a leaching concern is easily avoidable (given proper attention to other considerations such as strength and temperature ratings among the 3 varieties). Owners should be diligent to specify the type of PEX that is being installed.
What's the code for this in Alberta (or Canada)? Is Pex B being used here?

Not sure where you got that quote from, but I wouldn't exactly trust it with that type of grammar...

Haha..oops. I've just seen the down sides of it first hand and get a little tired of people's rave reviews. It's good in certain ways I'll give it that. Probably a lot of it comes down to poor installation of the fittings.

*whoosh* right over my head with that one. Dont get your analogy or your point. But I'm old and feeble, don't mind me.

Moving on. Bear in mind that ceiling is about 20 feet high, so the aquarium is about 7' h x 10' w. Waterfall will cascade down the rocks from the ceiling.

Jesus, that stonework is pretty hardcore for a house's interior. You are gonna have to post some pics closer to completion. Looks like a fun challenging job to be a part of.

Wtf with the fake ornaments lol. Huge tank but would be lots of work for maintenance. The pumps would have to be powerful and loud to keep the bottom clean. Lighting would have to be intense for 7 foot depth. Pics near completion would be awesome.

What amperage are you running that's pulling north of 50A inrush?

AFAIK You can install a 100A subpanel if 1) your garage feed wiring meets code for 100A draw over your run length (probably 0AWG - if you're 60A now you'll almost definitely need to replace your current feed wire) and 2) your main panel's incoming service wiring is large enough to meet code for both your house's draw and 100A draw from the garage. This will also be limited by the size of your main breaker and the amperage rating of the main panel itself.

You cannot just branch off the service line before the main panel, any subpanel must be fed by the main panel after the main panel shutoff breaker.

If you don't meet those conditions and still want 100A, you'll either need a separate service installed for the garage or have your main panel and/or service wiring upgraded to accommodate a 100A subpanel.

Disclaimer: I'm not an electrician, just spent a fair amount of time researching this stuff for the same reason. Talk to a professional before you do anything.

That far wall to the right of the tank is so freaking cool.

Also, tank is cool, but if you're going to put that money into a tank, don't dress it up with lame decorations. Saltwater and Liverock would be amazing in that size
