Well, Boudreau is off the market.

The Minnesota Wild have agreed to terms with Bruce Boudreau as their next head coach.

The deal is expected to be four years at almost $3 million per season.

I'd like to see the Flames take a run at Dave Lowry as head coach.

I hope it's not Ryan Huska. He's never coached in the NHL, so i think he would be a big mistake to have behind the bench.

Flames interviewing former Wild head coach Mike Yeo.

    http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2016/05/11/...interview-yeo/

    Mike Yeo’s in demand.

Just one day after reports claimed Anaheim had received permission to interview him for its head coaching gig, the Star-Tribune is now reporting another team has gotten permission to speak to Yeo as well — the Calgary Flames.

    Treliving is Canada’s GM.

Should he interview with the Flames (and Ducks), Yeo will have essentially completed the circuit of available head coaching gigs. Yeo previously interviewed with Ottawa — that job ultimately went to Guy Boucher — and, obviously, wasn’t going to be in line for the Minnesota position.

During his time with the Wild, Yeo earned a reputation for his strong defensive system (“defense-first Yeobots” is how one columnist described the players.) That could be attractive to the Flames, who finished dead last in the NHL in goals allowed per game (3.13) last season.

Teams are require to ask Minnesota permission to interview Yeo, as the contract extension he signed two years ago runs through 2017.

I'd be okay with Yeo. Wouldn't be excited for the hire but not dissapointed either

At this point I'm not sure I'd be excited about any coaching announcement.

Wasn't thrilled when Bob Hartley was hired, but he did turn this team into an exciting and fast team to watch. Mike Yeo, on the other hand, will implement Minnesota Wild hockey and that's boring as shiet to watch.

Wouldn't mind his defense first approach really I think it's what we need. As long as it doesn't choke down on offense too much like ended up happening in Minnesota (Oh, what Granlund could have been)

Defense first will hurt Johnny and Mony's production next year when they will be paid handsomely. Flames have three mobile defensemen, so the coach needs to utilize this as their strength. Don't mean to beat a dead horse - but the reason they let in a lot of goals was crappy goaltending.

People like exciting hockey when their team is losing.
People like any hockey when their team is winning.

If the Flames make the playoffs due to a defensive minded style then nobody here will be complaining.

They know we're not getting a good goalie for next season. ..so we need a coach that will cover up that weakness.
