Rumour is he is asking for $5.5mil. The flames cannot afford that,
Especially when TJ Brodie is only making $4.65mil.

If Russell wants to sign for $3mil I would happily take him back, anything more and he walks. We have guys in the AHL that can step in.

Let's remember he has 10 goals this year and the value he brings to a team is strictly on the scoresheet as he doesn't hit, play tough minutes, penalty kill or quarterback the power play.

I think a second rounder for a offensive only player with 10 goals would be a good return, the fact that a fourth came too is even better

That return is about what I'd expect for him given his production this year. That said, I was expecting more of a mid to early 2nd. Since Florida is a playoff team that's probably where the 4th came into play.

That 4th is in 2018 too haha
